I don't know who is more of a tease at this point Bethesda or GRR Martin.

Bethesda. At least we know that the game is being worked on and we will actually get it at some point.

The joke is that it was announced in 2018, seven years after Skyrim, with a screenshot of some generic land, and eight years later we have literally nothing else because nothing started for six years post announcement.

Schmuck thought we'd only be waiting 7 years from announcement. Noob.

How much impact do you reckon COVID had on TES6? Because in hindsight, there's no way they announce it in 2018 if they project it was going to be 10+ years to release surely.

Massive expectations on this game, probably far too much. Looked like Starfield was really dated when it came out and TES6 is using an upgraded engine from it? Personally think it's going to be hugely disappointing.

I have more optimism for ES6 and FO5 because the nature of Bethesda's engine lends to their worlds better. And that is that POI and locations are of course much more condense and close together, allowing the dynamic spawning of NPCS and factions to interact with other ones, violently or otherwise, thus bringing the world to life.

Lost count of how many times I'd start a fight with raiders in fallout only for roaming mutants, guards, and many others join in and all attack each other. Or in Skyrim, a dragon will follow you across the map where you can lure it into bandit camp, vampire den, and giant homestead all at once, creating your own fun. They become warzones.

Starfield had none of this because of course everything was so spaced out. I'd prefer Bethesda just cans the IP entirely or completely revamps how they approach it. At least we won't have to worry about a sequel for about 20 years.

It probably had some affect but at the same time they always said it was in the early stages of development, and they were (and are still) working on Starfield, and Fallout 76 still seems to have legs, plus their other projects.

No matter what they do they can't win. Every moron will find something to whinge about, and the one that gain the most attention will be consistently repeated in the shittier parts of social media for likes/attention/karma.

Whenever it gets released everyone will whinge it took too long, if it gets rushed they'll get hammered with allegations of taking shortcuts and/or using AI, if it has issues it'll be the whole "why did this piece of shit take so long?" thing Cyberpunk got, and it's never going to stack up to the over-inflated expectations of it having to be some amazing content rich overly populated world full of amazing stories and things to do. Plus it'll have AAA pricing so everyone will bitch about the ~$120 price tag.
