Yes, it’s wonderful news in the run up to Christmas. Just when we thought this matter was dying, a bushfire starts on the left flank.

The Injectors back in the news. Those poor fools still think that there’s going to be some action which undoes all the evidence that convicted them and clears them - and Jobe his Brownlow back.
The statement that these charges “could have ramifications for the Essendon players” who are still hoping to bring some action to clear themselves, was made by Peter Jess who manages one of the ex-players and who has spent the last 4 years tilting at windmills.

He thinks that evidence will show that the sleazebag Dank never had access to TB4 which he previously administered to Jobe and his mates.
That’s wishful thinking of the highest order. It’s more likely that the police case will actually document and prove the illegal substances that Dank brought into the country.

Sadly, it’s probably more likely that further updates regarding this matter won’t be until we‘re into the new year.

Tanner said the Bombers won’t support a Senate inquiry, declaring nothing could be gained.

“There is no prospect of changing the outcomes of all those processes and the impact they had on both the players and the Essendon Football Club,” Tanner said.

“Any such inquiry will cause significant distress for the people who are most affected … and the club therefore does not support that concept. We do not believe it would lead to anything positive for the club or the players.”

Tanner said he and CEO Xavier Campbell had repeatedly apologised to the affected players for the actions of the past and remained committed to supporting them, with Campbell reporting to the board annually on the contact he maintains with that group.

“I actually had a meeting with one player who specifically requested a formal meeting with me for the purposes of conveying an apology even though these have already been officially conveyed,” Tanner said.
