Only players that can be bothered making every contest a contest should be wearing teal next year. That sees Watts and Motlop out. If Watts does change , he has to play an accountable role meaning he slips into CHB as he too often slinks out of the game. Motlop is incapable of change and only plays for joe the goose......and that warrants playing in the twos

one raging bull shaped in the mould of Voss in our midfield at any one time please . That sees SPP and Wines vying for that roll.

I love Ryder but we'll have to see how his body goes before making a call

I'd love for him to re-sign as a Maggies listed player again, sucks that his last few weeks he was out with a back injury but he's a very handy young SANFL player at the moment, Hope other SANFL clubs don't raid our players again.

You've left out a few there -
Boak and Houston for starters I reckon both these two had pretty decent years.
Also SPP, Rockliff, Ebert and Pittard.

Boak - works his arse off but does too much useless running. give him a more defined role
Houston - great kick, but average defender
SPP - typical 2nd year blues of up and down, started by an untypical sexual assault allegation
Rockliff - not fit enough. will be better next year I hope
Ebert - works arse off but too many clanger, momentum killing moments
Pittard - trade him. wont improve. one above average year in 9 years. not good enough.

It’s so hard - what about players like Amon, Watts, Bonner, Atley, Drew, Patmore, Garner. Hayes (later in the year), Johnson, Barry, Irra, Broadbent

A dream forward/ruck quartet would be Ryder, Lycett, Dixon & Frampton/Marshall. Why not play at least 4 of them - cutting out the short people in our current forward line. This provides me with some hope for 2019!

I guess this is still very much work in progress!

Assuming Polec and atley go, and haven’t allowed for anyone to be brought in.

Farrell bonner boak Motlop and westhoff to rotate between on wings. I know Farrell didn’t always get enough of the ball but he brings so much we need and impacts play so much with so little. We must must develop him. If we can get him to a 15 touch player those 15 touches will absolutely destroy teams. He is the kind of rare talent that you can’t find very often. There are like 20 guys in sanfl who can win 10 clearances, or 30 touches. There’s no one who can kick and use the ball like
Farrell. If ever there was a player that deserves the Jake Neade let him ride through form it’s farrell.

Byrnes Jones to play the defensive guy coming in off the back of stoppages he looked good at earlier in year.

Centre mids to be mainly wines Wingard Rockliff and spp with gray rotating in.

Watch tapes of Hawkins year. That is how we should be playing Dixon. Leading out of goal square. Not on the wings and not stationary inside 50 wrestling guys. Moving towards the kickers on small leads as a target. Marshall push up to chf and wings and watts too to drag defenders out of 50 sometimes.

We need to give Johnson an extended run at some point to find out if he is a 200 gamer. 3-5 games. After that if he’s no good we know we get rid of him, but we really need someone with his attributes. He is genuinely fast, hits hard and kicks goals. His downside is he does not get involved enough.

After the year Ebert had I don’t want him in the 22.

Our midfield was too stacked and we distributed minutes too much to allow a low hurt factor guy to get away with 20d a game to get big minutes in there. If Ebert isn’t gutrunning and getting 27+ touches a game he should be dropped. His minutes go to spp Rockliff and Wingard in centre who all have more impact.

The big thing is we must replace like for like in terms of structure for talls next year. It cost us finals this year. Thomas
And Koch must make it clear to Hinkley in reviews that he lost it at team selection and if he makes the same mistakes they will see it as grounds for dismissal.
