Coach The fall of the assistants. Who will make it out and who won't?

If chadbro hasn't got a contract beyond 2020 you would think he should be getting a tad nervous.

Chad would probs be the runner - and in addition would have a small developmental/mentoring role, so it kills two birds with one stone. I reckon he will make the cut.

The club may trim the total number of analytics staff, some of the fitness data collection/monitoring people, etc.

Hentschel may be on thin ice.

Would like to think Monty, Schoey and Morris stay - but we will know when it all goes down, I guess.

Because they are the only ones contracted for next year?

Pretty much and I think it’s conveniently a good outcome.

Ken is on big coin too. Irrespective of what kochie said, I think even if we make finals he is no certainty to be there in 2021 (purely a cost thing).

If we make finals he is guaranteed of being here next year ? It would be more expensive to pay him out ?

Glad Arnfield has avoided the cull so far

He's not an employee.

Yes the club uses his employer's firm Leading Teams, but they might not be paying leading teams their fees, or at greatly reduced rate and/or Arnie could be helping out pro bono.

I saw that Dean Brogan is not currently with the club. It's a shame as he seems to have passion and the ruck stocks were have been a real positive over the last seasonish. I suppose specialist part time roles are no longer viable.

SANFL coach Matthew Lokan has become the club's enforced COVID-19 officer with his Magpies not taking part in the state league competition this year. All of the line coaches have returned this week, while development coach Scott Thompson departed the club last month along with two members of the fitness department. Part-time ruck coach and Power premiership big man Dean Brogan wasn't included in the initial cap of 25.

From that same article,
“The Blues made swift changes to their coaching structure as COVID-19 hit. Part-time specialist coaches Greg Williams, Saverio Rocca and Hamish McIntosh lost their roles, while Josh Fraser, the club's VFL coach, was made redundant as part of their move away from the Northern Blues. Development coach Jason Davenport remains stood down, while director of coaching Henry Playfair is back working remotely.”

What a motley crew that list is..

Shame. But hey, at least we got to keep Hinkley on an overinflated salary!

Over inflated you say o_O, ease up m8............ it aint cheap wining and dining the journos and talking heads that Hinks has admitted too.

What better way to ease the pressure (that he allegedly enjoys) than seek to buy / curry / compromise their impartiality.

Maybe he could compliment this sleazy backdoor approach by blurring the boundaries as coach and chummy up to players (well the ones he likes).

I've lost count the number of times certain players, past & present, have said what a great guy he is. Dwayne'O and Kane'O leading his cheer squad.

The situation with Hinks is pretty clear cut imo. Outside of a PF at least this year it's see ya later Kenny. Now we've already heard that 2020 being

such a weird and unprecedented year it's unfair to hold Kenny to any performance based clause that allegedly is in his contract.

Well let's carry this theme of weird and unprecedented a little further and state the bleeding obvious. We can't afford you anymore Kenny.

Your wage and your results don't correlate and you certainly have not earned the right to lead our batch of promising youngsters that we've gotten on the

back of smart and ruthless recruiting and list management. Don't you dare hide behind how promising our youngsters are and play them like a shield

to protect and prolong your career. A career devoid of accountability and obscenely well paid that has seen thousands of Port supporters being treated like chumps.

You've bled our club dry. Muggins here gives blood every 12 weeks to the Red Cross and along with our club we cannot and should not give you anymore.

You've short changed our Club our supporters and the careers of many players in your underwhelming self centred and self serving tenure.

Even if we go deep into finals it's 1/2 pay for you next year....... weird and unprecedented?....... Yep but hey, these are weird and unprecedented times

that call for weird and unprecedented decisions. Maybe on 1/2 pay next year we'll find out if it's all about you or all about our club.

Take it or leave it Hinks and in case your wondering how much wriggle room you've got, it's my final offer.

Not even worth half the pay. 8th year and we've achieved 0.

Can't argue with ^ but we seem to be being 'buttered up' by Koch for 2021 under Ken.

My offer was solely on the condition he takes us deep into finals this year. The trimming of list sizes and support staff makes Hinks supposed $800K salary outrageous.

If we're gunna have him forced down our throats next year then 1/2 pay it is. My hope is he'd walk.

You and I were pretty vocal back in '17 that he didn't deserve an extension and nothing has changed my mind. Problem is Koch n Keef :(

Yep. In any season post-2014 we could've literally swapped out Hinkley with one of our lines coaches and our results wouldn't have been any worse. Plus, we would've saved well over half a $million each season.
