Sound off as to what you think of the appointments?

Claire O'Neal for Home Affairs is a great pick. She's an excellent local member and has the Harvard JFK School of Government+ McKinsey pedigree, so no doubt has quite a few professional connections with state department types.

Someone who basically has a US equivalent NatSec background minus the gig in "naval intelligence" (i e. is overtly CIA) is a big improvement from a former corrupt cop, that's for sure.

Any surprises, pleasant or itherwise? Oh and Linda Burney, very happy for her and her current role.

Michelle Rowland - Minister for Communications

Rowland had a career as a senior lawyer specialising in competition and regulation in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors, and also spent time as chair of Screen NSW in 2009 to 2010.

This is one of many that I am looking forward to what changes she makes especially within the ABC.

First thing I would do is spill the board and get people with a media background there.

Maybe leave Ita there for now as at least she does have a background in media.
