20 Seasons, 5 Premierships, 2 Pre-Season Premierships, 1 Hall of Fame Member, 2 Mobbenfuhrer Medals, 3 EKA Medals, 2 TFLUA-Tiger Medals, 2 ALF Andrews Medals, 7 Deestroy Medals & 30 All-SFA Representatives.

Season 22 marked the Fighting Furies 20th season in the Sweet FA, after being founded in season 3 by rfctigerarmy and despite a few lows including calls to fold the club, the stats above show that overall it hasn’t been a bad experience to be a Fury over the journey.

As we enter our 21st season we have employed an esteemed panel of judges made up of past and present players and club legends and given them the task of selecting the best 20 furies from our first 20 seasons a 20 for 20 if you will.

The team to be revealed over the next few days is the 20 greatest players to pull on the Fighting Furies jumper and some would be considered among the greatest players to ever walk out onto a sweet FA field, the festivities will fittingly be capped off by an exhibition match against the Demons and the announcement of our season 23 surprise signing.

We will kick things off with the honourable mentions, 4 players unlucky to miss out some of whom bounced in and out of the team multiple times whilst heated discussions ensured. The caliber of the honourable mentions is quite impressive and bodes well for the 20 who made the team.

Filthy Sanchez Debut S14 R12, 66 games, 75 goals, Captain of the Furies S15-17, Fumbles Goldenboot S16, All-SFA S15

metallichris Debut S5 R3, 65 games, 6 goals, S5 Premiership player, S6 BnF winner.

EagleOz Debut S15 R1, 94 games, 69 goals, S20 premiership player

Tarkyn_24 Debut S20 R1, 54 games, 196 goals (3rd most for the Furies), 3 x Fumbles goldenboot winner S20-22, S20 Premiership player

I like this. History is good.

Will I be in the team?

There are 7 current Furies in the 20 and an additional one currently plying his trade at another team

"What if I told you there was an I in team?"

The Sterge Story

What if I told you there are 5 I's in individual brilliance.

We now move onto the named team and we start with the Fullback line, thanks to tgrs for the excellent writeups

Backpocket: beaver's army
Debut S5 R3. 145 Games. 3 Premierships, 5 Grand Finals. 1 Minor Premiership. Season 5, Premiership year rfctigerarmy Medallist. Season 8 Grand Final 'Deestroy' Medallist. 3x 10+ Votes in the Mobbenfuhrer Medal.

Entering the Furies fold in the first premiership year, Beaver's Army quickly became an instrumental part of the team's centre during one of the clubs most successful era's ever. In his first year the new midfielder had his best career year, securing the rfctigerarmy medal in the Club's first regular season finish in Finals. 'Beav' would go on to play in another grand final 3 seasons later, winning a Deestroy for BOG and adding over 40+ Mobbs votes to his name since his debut. Later in his career, Beaver's Army was moved around to the benefit of the team yet still remained a vital contributor to the Furies third premiership. Following the poor campaigns in Season 12 and halfway through Season 13, BA would return to the Furies in trying circumstance and help the club he loved lift off the bottom of the ladder the following year.

Fullback: Fwoy
Debut S3 R1. 111 games. Founding member of the Fighting Furies. 1 Premiership, 3 Grand Finals. 1 Minor Premiership. 1 x ALL SFA Half Back Season 4.

A founding member of the Club, FWOY's influence in the back-line was a defining factor in the Furies first premiership success. An ALL SFA Half Back In Season 4 prior, the stingy defender would play all of the games in the Furies first finals charge and consistently dominate from the unlikeliest of positions. Winning a minor premiership in Season 7, commitment from players like FWOY who played all of his 111 Sweet F.A games with the Fighting Furies helped the club create an, at the time, 'Richmond board only' identity and maintain the ability to recruit without worrying about mass desertion.

Backpocket: londontiger
Debut S7 R1. 100 Games. 1 Premiership. 1 Minor Premiership. Season 8, Premiership year rfctigerarmy Medallist. 1 Premiership, 3 Grand Finals. 1x 10+ Votes in the Mobbenfuhrer Medal.

A champion midfielder in his prime, londontiger's time in the league represents one of the more unusual careers in Sweet history. Entering the Sweet F.A in Season 7, the young Qootierwould quickly grasp success with a Minor Premiership and a top spot in the team before an ultimately disappointing finals campaign. Bouncing back to his first Premiership the next year, LT retired after season 9 for the first time in his career, the very next Season, the Furies would once again win the premiership. 8 seasons on from his first stint with the Furies. Londontiger returned to the club in Season 17, a massive length of time waited for a homecoming, however from the get go his quality was still significant. Regarded as one of Wacky's favourite posters, a Grand Final defeat in his second season back would spur lt on for one more crack at ultimate success in Season 19, eventually retiring for the second and final time, only to see the Furies win a historic premiership the following year, again.
