This my DT, feedback welcome,be gentle.... lol

Don't worry, I'll be gentle. Rather than just saying it's shit, I'll tell you why it's shit.

A) Don't pick key backs like McPharlin, Taylor and Ryder. No matter how good they are in AFL terms, there's no point getting them for DT because their main aim isn't to get the ball.

B) Don't pick players who've just had breakout years like Palmer. I got sucked into that the first time I played DT too. Palmer's not going to be a value pick this year. I did the same thing with Justin Westhoff *facepalm*

C) Forwards like Betts and McKinley are similar to defenders like Ryder and McPharlin. The main reason they are in the side is to kick goals, not get the ball. This makes them A) Inconsistent and B) Not high scorers anyway. With your defence and forward line it's always good to look for players who push up into the midfield regularly, Betts and McKinley won't and neither will any of the key defenders.

So yeah, just look at some different types of players and you should be fine.

Grimes' injury turned out to be a bit of a godsend as it forced me to completely rejig my team, and now I'm a lot happier with it.

I may hover around the DT site on Thursday to confirm that my emergencies are picked (I'm confident about the rookies on the field) but apart from that, no dramas.

Agreed. I only see myself on there at 5 for a quick check of the three guys highlighted in red and then I'm set.

However, I don't think this year will be as catastrophic. Especially now that they have the 'save team' functionality in, should things go to shit, theoretically, at the very least you'll be left with the team you signed in with.

Still, I'm not gonna risk it. Quick sign in, everybody named? yes? done and done. no? panic.

I would look at replacing Malchevski with Nichovski......

Have considered seriously starting to throw darts, but have finally hit a combo i am happy with, just need to confirm 2 bench rookies in backs.

And have 128k still to spend to improve the Gaz/Kornes/Gibbs combo...or save it for an early up grade?

That doesn't look bad fruit loops. Your structure is similar to mine.

I've tried to select players who should score ok, but have a decent scope to go up in value early. Im gonna play the patient game this year.

I only have 4 players over 400k and i think that is because they all have the potential to get 100+ most weeks... Cox, Selwood, Buddy and Chappy.

Backs
Goddard, Lockyer, Chad, Malceski, Houlihan, Geary, Hill (Suban, Broughton)

Mids
Selwood, Gibbs, K. Simpson, Schammer, Tuck, Otten (Anthony, Jetta)

Rucks
Cox, HMac (Graham, Spencer)

Forwards
Buddy, Chappy, N. Brown, O'Keefe, Lucas, Skipworth, Higgins (Krakeour, Thorp)

I am pretty certain that will be my final team. I've tossed up ditching Cox and getting another premium but Im trying to win my league or maybe a weekly prize, not the whole thing, so Im gonna be patient...

The only decent money on the bench is Krakeour, just in case Skippy pulls up short for round 1.

Hopefully I can buy Gaz and Hodge as the season progresses...
