HR couldn't haven taken Iris' place, she was snatched from Earth 2 immediately after HR accidentally revealed her location. And they couldn't have done it before they went to Earth 2 either because of the conversation between Iris and Joe on Earth 2 reminicising about the past (Stuff HR wouldn't know about). Wouldn't surprise me if the face changing tech played some other role in the finale but surely the writers aren't that stupid to do "Iris is HR" twist (I hope).

EDIT: Happy_Eagle makes a decent point about possibly doing the switch when Barry was firing the cannon. I hope not, still feels like a jumping the shark moment.

Why not? Jessie could have ran him in there, then switched them.

I just wonder how the first 5 minutes are going to play out.

There was a moment when Zavatar and Flash were fighting where Iris could've been exchanged, but it might be decoy for the real plot twist. The other thing was when Zavatar drops Iris and starts running around, why didn't Barry just go for Iris then and get her away? This is what happens when you play with time travel stories, you paint yourself into a corner eventually. Really been a poor season IMO.

I think it will be interesting too, how they play the segue into next season. Whether its a plot twist from the end of this episode, or like last season, in a separate scene.

The ending was kinda bullshit. Why not create another speed clone and send that one into the speedforce.

Wasnt the cause of Savatar because they used those clones like garbage? Probably didnt want to go down thay road again.

- the final speedsters battle
- HR and the return of Harry
- Vibe making more of an effort and leading Team Flash next year?
- Will Wally wear the red next year?

All over a good final. Wasnt expecting it to be much but proven wrong.

One minor point that continues to bug me

It is clear now that HR was not using the face-changer the whole time around Tracy, given that she immediately recognised Wells from Earth 2.
So HR was given free reign that whole series to walk around like Harrison Wells (who was the worlds most famous scientist turned villain as far as the earth was concerned) and not even a scientist like Tracy noticed?

The ride didn't last long if he is, and now he's going to be type cast for the rest of his career.

Grant Gustin (aka Barry) is the series lead, once he leaves the show ends therefore he never leaves the show

Looks like that leaked video was spot on. It was interesting to see the raw footage vs the finished footage.

The Thinker will probably be the next villain, given its had two references. They will need to find a way to get Barry back

Leads can be changed in shows, it's been done before, haven't you watched a TV series before?

The reason I'm saying this is the comic has several Flashes, so it isn't unreasonable to think a different Flash might take over. I guess we'll have to wait and see how they work it. But thanks for your snarky input, it certainly stimulated the ignore button.

Gustin makes the show. It is safe to say Wally will take over for at least 1 or 2 episodes at the start of next season but Barry will be back.
