cricket has been a bit boring the last few home series and the ashes needs to be a spectacle.
SA just beat us on green decks last summer, it was an intense series even if we were on the wrong end of things.

If test match cricket is to survive, it must offer something for the bowler.
Let’s not give in to T20 batsmen
That’s all well and good but on a pitch like today for example, why the f*** were none of the quicks trying to cut the ball?
The skills of the game have become so inflexible that quicks think a pitch has to be a flying green top to offer them any assistance.
From the first ball it was holding up today. As if that wasn’t enough of a clue, Lyon was turning it from ball one.
How can professional bowlers be dumb enough to not see that and think ‘ok if I slow it down a bit and try and get the ball to grip, I can make life hard here’?
It’s not Mumbai, if the quicks try to cut the ball on this pitch it will go straight through there’s nothing in it for the quicks.

Another typical Gabba road for a test match from the most overrated groundsman in the country.

Teams either need to be out by lunch first day or making 180 oddI really don't know why many of the posters on here even watch Test cricket, they clearly don't get it.

I wouldn't know enough to comment on respective curators and their ratings but I do generally find Gabba tests the most boring of the summer.
Cmon mate - Adelaide has been saved by becoming a D/N test - otherwise an absolute road for 3.5 days thats boring af and you are hoping a side gets rolled in the last day and a half to produce a result

Not the greatest deck but the match is interesting so it’s aiit. I suspect the relatively low quality of both sides will mean it’s a very engaging series all the way through.![]()
Yeah it was very disappointing in the end, wasn't it? I had high hopes for the series as I thought the sides looked a lot closer on paper than they ended up being. The pitches were absolute shit and the curators should stop acting as CA puppets.not only was this not true, the absolutely shocking pitches the whole way through ensured that england never had a chance
