um this is just wrong even on the ball model. the earth does not 'turn underneath' objects in the air. or else we would see birds fly straight up in the air and wait for the earth to turn underneath them in order to get to another country. we all know the atmosphere is magically stuck to the spinning ball earth hence planes do not take long going east-west or west-east depending on the spin.
