have you ever tried to see the eifel tower from on top of the burj khalifa or are you just saying that to strengthen your point?
Is your point that the highest I could have been is the observation deck? Not the very top?

How about this... I should be able to see the top of the Burj Khalifa from ground level in an open area, if the world was flat.
Why can't I?

cos there is no open area big enough?

cos there is no open area big enough?
So... Standing in an open field... what is blocking you from seeing the Burj Khalifa?

Is the pacific ocean not big a big enough area?

You do understand, right?
That if the world was flat... you should be able to see the top of the tallest building in the world.
The need for an open area, is so that large objects don't block your view.

yes i understand. if the world was flat, you should be able to see the top of the tallest building in the world. great. let's go find an open area and test it. can we do that? the pacific ocean you say? someone go do it. then we'll know if the earth is flat or not??

no you shouldn't. why does a tall guy look really short when he's 50 metres away? perspective. and y'all need some cm86.

What does thay have to do with it?

You can still see the person, right?
Get binoculars, the person doesn't look small anymore.

What does perspective have to do with it?

You can test it.

I explained it in my diagram on the other page.
Why it would still be viewable if the world was flat, but why you couldn't see it if the world was at least curved.

i know the hypothetical doesn't work, i was entertaining it to make the point you can't test it. that diagram does not prove anything! would the building not look microscopic from such a distance? if you have one million Burj Khalifa's all lined up in a row, like stobie poles, on a flat plain, and you stood next to the first one, would you be able to see the last one?

You can test it... it's specifically why I suggested it... because you can actually test it yourself...

Use whatever means of extending your vision in a straight line that you want, you cannot see something on the other side of the world.

You can see the moon, sun, stars with your eyes... but you can't see a skyscraper, even if no object except the Earth, os bloxking your view.

Diagram wasn't proof... it was to try to give a basic explanation.

What I want to know is the logistics that go into a show like Mythbusters and all those involved to be able to continue to perpetrate the myth of a non flat earth......

I'm going to take my kids to see the wall of ice this summer. Can't wait. There's a "wall of ice" tour you can do. Kids under 12 eat free!
You would think any curious Seafarer with even a slight amount of navigation skills could quite easily venture to this Ice Wall of which you speak. I mean if you think about, the world being so flat and all, you wouldn't even need to get that close to be able to see it.

They're all in on it too. Every single seaman.

So to date (off the top of my head, I'm sure I have missed a few) in on the Conspiracy to keep all the rich Dark Side of the Earth minerals to themselves:
- Free Masons
- NASA (heck anybody with a space program or satellites)
- Red Bull
- Mythbusters
- Any International Flight Service provider
- Seamen
- Manufactures of Globe Atlases
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
