Yes ok so air density is greater at sea level. But an observer 20 km away looking at the top of a tower over the horizon is looking through pretty much through identically dense air to observe the peak and the base. So if the only reason things disappear over the horizon is air density, then presumably the peak and base would disappear and the same distance. So you shouldn't be able to see the top of a tower (or a ship or a tree or a mountain) over the horizon with the base obscured.
wowee, that's shifting the goal posts or what. a minute ago you're talking about seeing uluru from your house! it's pretty obvious the way perspective works that the higher you go the further you can see, this is simply obvious when thinking about having less to obscure your sight. you surely don't believe that your example proves anything in either way, it makes sense on both a flat and ball model. we've all seen the example of binoculars bringing distant objects back in to sight or "over the curvature" as neil degrasse tyson tells me.

And that is even accepting that density of air causes objects to become less visible at distance, which I would suggest would need to be demonstrated (atmospheric reaction as a concept is different as it involves the bending of light due to variable densities... looking towards the horizon on a flat Earth you would expect air density to be more or less constant).
you can see it demonstrated if, as i said, you actually put any effort in to doing some research. i'm not going to do it all for you.

I'm not even trying to argue with FE Theory per se... I just think if you want to claim the high ground on science, these would be good examples where you can apply science and unify FE Theory as describing the nature of the world in one uniform way rather than a cluster of ideas that don't fit together.
neither am i. i'm not a flat earther. i just think the average person has little understanding of the empirical evidence for what they're told they live on.

It has no atmosphere. Half the planet is basically rock in constant darkness exposed to space.

Lol. So tell me this then ball lover: if you are standing behind a building and the building is between you and the sun, so the sun is not shining directly on you, is it -173 degrees all of a sudden?

The ball lovers will believe anything

Ha. Ball lovers. Could be a diamond for all I care. Doesn't impact my life at all.

I've been in bright sunshine and it's been -45 degrees. Mercury isn't made of glass and steel. Ever been to Cooper Pedy? Just being sheltered by a little bit of rock makes a big difference.

It's called shade. Not being directly exposed to the sun is less hot than being directly exposed. Who'd a thunk it? However I'm tipping stepping behind a rock in cooper pedy doesn't make it go to -173 degrees. Oh and Mercury is a shitload closer to the sun than cooper pedy is too, according to the ball lover theory.

It probably would if Cooper Pedy didn't have an atmosphere.

Mercury can't be that much closer though. I thought the sun was only 3000km away.

That's what I am saying - ball lover theory states that mercury is much closer to the sun, and yet the ball lover theory says it's -173. It's like the ball lover theory is a contest for the most ridiculous "facts".

"Hey guys, let's see if they believe this! We'll tell them mercury is really close to the sun, but, but it's -174 degrees!!!!"

Ball lovers will believe anything.

So, they shot themselves in the foot with the -173 degree thing? They should have said 400 degrees or something. Seems a silly error by them.

They shoot themselves in the foot over and over again. As I said it's like a contest for who can come up with the most absurd theory for the ball lovers.

Not a flat earth
To afraid to admit the earth is flat while to afraid to start your own ball loving thread.
And how many others have we witnessed in the same boat over these 190 pages? Confused and afraid, exactly where the powers that be want you. So afraid you will be willing to believe anything they tell you, while at the same time ignoring what is obvious to you own senses.

Ball lovers will believe anything.
