I wasn't saying their theory is correct though only they might be more onto something than some are giving them credit for via the idea of simulation theory. I only considered it something to consider. You chose to just ridicule, in a fashion I've seen reasonably often, and start talking about unicorns.
I don't even understand why you are on the thread and commenting if you think the flat earth is so dumb anyway let alone carrying on because someone dared to theorise.

I've never been convinced by that argument. The plane's window's are not exactly a flat surface themselves, and normally there are two curved panels you are looking through. Add that to expecting to see a curvature, and that maybe the reason for seeing a curvature.

That said, the ancient Greeks measured the curvature with nothing more than shadows cast by a stick. And got within a few percent of the modern size estimate.
The earliest sea voyagers saw the tops of mountains before the bases. If the Earth was flat, the opposite would be true as the base is larger and therefore more visible from further away unless hidden by a curved sea.

There is no evidence that people broadly believed in a flat Earth beyond the times of ancient Babylonia - though some did think so. It seems to be an invention of 19th century myth, which cast previous people as "primitive" and Victorian era as "modern".
Certainly by the 12th century - the early Crusades - various things were brought back to Europe showing a globular Earth which was accepted by the church.

Devices known as astrolabes had been in use since the 2nd century BC and in part rely on a round Earth for navigation purposes. They continued to be used because they worked. Coming up with a structure to make them work under a flat Earth is possible, but an extraordinary feat of mathematics rather than having any bearing on any physical reality.

You've brought a simulation theory into the thread and declared that it can't be proven otherwise because we might not be able to percieve a flat earth, so therefore we just have to accept its a possibility.

That's the very premise of the spaghetti monster.

You can't prove a spaghetti monster didn't create the universe, so therefore it's a possibiity.
