No one with any mathematical or scientific understanding has believed the earth was flat since about 200 BC.

About 400 Trillion tonnes of water DOES escape from the surface of the ocean via evaporation every day. However, it does it one molecule at a time. A molecule of water doesn't weigh much. Gravity is an incredibly weak force.

By the way, can you see Polaris at night from your house? If the eart is flat, you should be able to.

Clouds are Mother nature's way of providing us with drinking water…..What goes up must come down.....Gravity rules.

If you are prepared to understand the math or science, the proof exists. There's evidence from people that have been to space and taken photos. There's the evidence of your own eyes that other planets in our solar system are round. You don't want proof, you want to believe you are part of something that makes you smarter than everyone else. And if it is flat why hasn't at least on flat Earther got a plane license and try to disprove circumnavigating the planet? or took a boat to the end of the world?

I mean it is possible that they have but they fell off the edge I guess

I have two, thanks. Nothing about my world is changing because it turns out the world is flat. My job is still the same, my car still runs the same, everything works exactly the same. Answer the question. How does your life change by the world being flat?

I was planning to sail to the south pole but now that I know its guarded by NASA I';m not sure its worth the risk

It's not.

Theres a flat earth documentary on Netflix and the flat earthers conduct experiments that prove the Earth isn't flat and then they try and spin that evidence into something else to still give them hope.

There's plenty of science doco's, how to's & why for's on YouTube....They aren't mutually exclusive....To suggest so just for a cheap-shot is just plain ignorant, lazy & stupid.

Straw Men are an ugly look on people trying to appear more intelligent & enlightened over others....It's always about context & content, not the medium....You'd do well to learn that lesson.

Lock down boredom led me to this thread hoping to find out what this flat earth thing is all about. Sadly the first few pages seemed to be the usual scoffers slagging off at people who dare to question anything.

Anyway, found some interesting videos on YT by a guy called Eric Dubay. Not sure if what others think of him but he does explain his ideas in a calm and measured way which makes his videos easy to watch. Some of his explanations for things I didn't buy however.

One thing I've always wondered though is why is there so much less land in the Southern Hemisphere?

My entire answer with Eric Dubay is con artist going to con artist.

In terms of why there is much less land in the southern hemisphere, I don't think there is a definitive answer to that, outside of just coincidence we're living in a period that the earth has most of its land based in the north instead of the south (noting with how we've reconstructed the earths history, there have been periods the landmass have been primarily in the southern hemisphere, i.e. Gondwana supercontinent). Not the most satisfying answer, I know, but I'm not too familiar with a more in-depth answer than that.

There isn't. There is basically exactly the same amount of land in both the North and South Hemisphere. It's just that some more of the land in the Northern Hemisphere is a little bit higher than the level of the surface water than in the southern hemisphere. The land is still there in the southern hempishere - just more of it has a thin covering of water.

If the earth was the size of an apple, and the water spread evenly around it, the water layer would be thinner than the skin of the apple. Overall, the earth is very, smooth - the bumps and dips are relatively tiny.

Anyway, around the time Pangea was the single supercontinent on earth, it is believed more of it was in the Southern Hemipshere than the North.
