I've still yet to find out what proving the earth is flat would achieve? Asides from the heightened sense of superiority which Conspiracy Theorists seem to have in spades anyway.

The complex type scenario here is that it is quite probably that the Earth (like all Planets) is indeed both “round” and “flat” depending at what speed you are travelling through the Universe.
However; in the parameters in which our reality is, besides all the science behind each theory. IMO, the conspiracy is just too big to control and to what end? To hide what’s on the other side…….
For that alone, for me the Earth is round even before we break out the graphs etc.

Why would the Earth be flat when you can easily peer into a telescope yourself and see that the Moon is actually spherical?

Exactly. Said same earlier ITT. In fact you don't even need a telescope. On a clear night you can see it with your own eyes.
No - you can't see it's a sphere. It could be a flat disk, like a plate.

No, you can see a sphere. When it's less than a half moon you can see the shape.

uh no, you can see a sliver of light, a small sliver of shading next to the light and if you look carefully, you can still see the remainder of the moon in dark shading. you're just looking up and seeing what you're told to see.
note that also the ball moon supposed turns exactly at the speed of the earth relative to its size, so we conveniently never see any other aspect of the moon's surface. also that the moon and the sun appear the same size because one is conveniently an equal distance closer than the other one is larger in size.

1. No, I can see the curve of the moon. Perhaps it's because I don't live in the city and the sky is much more clear here, but just recently on a clear night with a quarter moon I looked up and observed the curve of the moon.
2. Yes it orbits earth with the same side always facing us. This is not uncommon in the universe btw, perhaps you should read more.
3. Sure the earth sun fits conveniently behind the moon right now, but that wasn't always the case and won't always be. The distance between the moon and the earth is gradually changing, the moon is slowly slipping out of our orbit. It used to be closer and would more than block the sun, we happen to live in a time when the difference is pretty snug. In time it will no longer block it out entirely.
I feel bad for mentioning these things because if you'd done any research at all you'd have known that. Sorry for embarrassing you like that.

Further, on the bolded, did you know that on current theory the moon was once 15 x larger in the sky, not long after forming, than it is now? That's not so convenient, is it...

Saw it on a doco where they discussed the impact theory of the moon's creation.
