I'll be generous with my guesstimates here, so from around 500AD to 1000AD, while the Chinese were still building the Great Wall, enduring revolts and societal collapses, they were able to accurately map, not only the world (as a flat surface), but above and beyond an impenetrable ice wall an area 3 or 4 times the size of the earth as we know it.

Ego gets in the way and people have trouble accepting the fact they have been lied too.

I, like others in here, consider myself as a free thinker.

There's aspects of flat earth (aeroplane straight line flights) that make sense.

I just don't agree with the patchwork nature of it where shit gets invented (like Universal Acceleration) to cover flaws in its theory.

And to get this thread back to what it actually should be, the Flat Earth believers proving that the Earth is flat and disproving that it is round (which consistently gets ignored) I will ask the following questions that I require answers to:

1. How actually does a sunset go below the horizon and a sunrise come from beyond the horizon? I witnessed this occur last evening while watching my beautiful wife during her pregnancy photo shoot (and took photos myself) and I witness it on regular occasions. But how, ahem, on Earth does that happen if the Sun is supposed to just zoom off in to the distance? My eyes most certainly didn't deceive me and the Sun most certainly did not get much smaller and smaller in size like it's 'supposed' to.

2. How do Lunar Eclipses occur? All of a sudden the Moon goes behind the flat Earth accidentally I guess. Something like that.

3. If the Moon was so close, how come different parts of the world see the same side of the moon? If it's only 3000 miles away then surely people who are beyond the other side of the moon would see that other side, but they don't.

4. If the Earth is flat, then how can we accurately predict exactly where the ISS was, where the ISS is and where the ISS will be (channelling Bret 'The Hitman' Hart for a moment) when those predictions are entirely based upon a round Earth model? You can do this too and prove it yourself. When you see that the ISS is tracking near you, you can look out for it.

5. Just how many people would need to be in on the conspiracy? It would be an utterly extraordinary amount of people that would need to know the Earth is flat but that we need to ensure the rest of the public don't find out. Why haven't the space agencies of other countries come out and shocked the world by informing us that what we have been taught is wrong? The Chinese would love to do something like that, I'm sure. How about pilots, meteorologists, scientists, physicists, etc., etc. coming out and spilling the beans? Why is my brother-in-law (a previously qualified pilot) lying to me, my sister, my family, his kids, his friends all of these years? Why would he do that?

Do you want proven facts or the theory? Obviously many of the facts aren't proven just like many of the other things we are being told including that of the round earth.
Are you interested for interest sake or do you just want to debunk and debate so we continue to go round in circles?

Even a response like 'it's magic' would be great at this point. It's been two weeks since the link was first posted and still hasn't been discussed.

But I'd prefer the theory behind it backed up with some sort of factual evidence.

What I'm alluding to here is I don't 'care' for science being treated in a religious form,meaning I don't 'care' for religious terminology such as Oscamms Razor or pseudo science,terminology that has been used numerous times throughout this thread.
I never asked for the best answer we have right now.I asked for proof,as fact,that Gravity exists. This has yet to be supplied.
Another poster has asked for an unedited photo of the earth as a globe while going to the trouble of showing numerous edited versions,but is as yet to have his request met.
Another poster would like to see some unedited footage of the globe earth spinning. A request that has again not been supplied.

Occam's Razor isn't a religious term. It is the concept that the simplest explanation that fits the facts is the best one.

Lets take this to the extreme. There is evidence for the existence of black holes, including supermassive ones, including one at the heart of the Milky Way. Black holes are the end result of the relationship between mass, density and gravity. They are gravity gone wild. Our best explanations for their formation are due to gravity crushing matter to a single point, where nothing can escape its grip, even light itself.

Without gravity, how do planets form? How are stars powered?
