As for terms like doughnuts, science has always looked for easily understandable words and images to explain complex subjects. They obviously hadn't factored in the simplicity of flat earthers taking it in another direction.

They admit the earth is more pear-shaped.
What people fail to understand is the shape of the pair is actually....

the rounded surface part of a pear is the dome, then the flat earth underneath, and then the pointy end is the bottom of the flat earth rock. Or like when you pull a root out of the soil.

I do like doughnuts but I don't find the narrative in Goldilocks compelling; I tend to empathise with the antagonists who have, after all, been the victim of a break-in and burglary.
