Hamburgers from burger joints/restaurants - overrated, can mkae better ones at home and in the end, its just a burger

BBQ sauce - criminally overrated - thats all you can taste when its added to any food.
BBQ sauce, definitely.

This I heavily disagree with.

We get ours from Aldi for $3 - the supreme. We had some cheese, tomato and capsicum and it tastes delicious.

After all, you're not paying much, so I don't expect a world class dish.
Meh.

And that depends how much capsicum, if you're layering it heavily you've killed the pizza.

Home made Mexican, it's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant.

San Telmo Melbourne- Sublime, never miss going there when we are on our annual footy trip from the Sunshine State.
Mexican or tex mex?

I cook tex mex at home and do a good job.
But I agree. Outside of Mexico’s I haven’t really come across a good “Mexican” restaraunt (half of which are tex mex)

Underrated - Brussel sprouts (fried, obviously. With bacon and balsamic)

My wife's favourite
She loves them over cooked like her mum used to do them.
I dont mind them but they over power a roast.

For me under rated is roasted Parsnips

Few good ones in melbourne - of course not as good as mexico. Had some ripper mexican meals in texas/san diego/california

Do love the Old El Paso ones at home - easy and delicious - nothing like the real thing but delicious.

Agreed. Ive done it twice over charcoal and oven (over rack) and yeah it is a bit tasty but fu** it just aint great. Pork shoulder much better.
Despite flavour and meat to fat ratio
$7 to $10 a Kilo for Shoulder V $14 to $18 for belly makes it a no brainer too

More tex mex style, I've come across one good one in Brisbane, on Oxford street... La Quinta, I was there last Friday for the first time in around 6 months.

I do enjoy steaks but i do think they are overrated, especially for the price at restaurants
In an American or Australian steakhouse they’re okay but overpriced
At a pub they’re shit

But try an Argentinian steakhouse. They might be more expensive but they’re certainly worth it.

What are people's thoughts on pancakes?

I think they sit in the appropriately rated category? ******* delicious, I love them.

Personally would have pretty much anything else for breakfast if eating out. Make them for the kids but dont eat them much myself. Butter and sugar the best topping

Once or twice a year for me with maple syrup....so ok but not the best

I made some blueberry ones about a month ago best ones ever (fluffy) still probably wont make those more than a few times a year though

Pancakes always make you feel like death after eating them. File under the 'food you can make at home that tastes no different to that which you pay for'.
