I always thought Dempster had potential. Never forgot his delightful sidestep around Cousins in the Granny.

Barry Hall to the ring, Story heard that is currently begging a prep for a pro fight.

The thing is he could earn a million from a couple of fights such is the standard of heavyweight boxing in Australia, even at his age he possibly could win a title, that says alot about Aussie professional boxing although the amateurs are humming along real nice..
Its about bums on seats, pay tv etc, a million in a very short time is very possible, at his age it would be his legs starting to let him down on the field his upper body would be fresh and very well conditioned, he keeps in great shape and has a classic boxers build. He will drop a few kilos to fight if it happens, I would love to see it, for his sake too I dont what it to be a 'what if' thing.. To knock back a cushy GWS deal for playing basically a dozen games you would have to bet a fights on the cards.

Interesting article on Cresswell and his time in charge of The Devils.

http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2011/10/18/269691_afl.html

interesting to see how he gets his life back together. People who go inside for various reasons often find ways, but fraudsters have a hard time getting jobs, even harder sometimes than serious violent or drug crimes.

Cresswell doesn't really seem to have anywhere to go. Before football it was understood he was heading toward a career in banking and finance. That's got no chance of happening. He wont be allowed near another professional football club.

the only job that seems to be available is as professional gambler... and he's doesn't seem to be very good at it.

^^Yer watching "Sunday Night" on the Seven Network and their interview with Cressa, interesting insight to life after football and the struggles some players have with gambling addiction, as Fev, Wallis and even Heath Shaw seem to have

I love a bet but the concept of borrowing money or not allocating which proportion of my salary goes to my account to "play" with is scary. i can punt all day but the money needed for other parts of my life is securely tucked away and never used to chase.

Reported that Dogs have retained one rookie: Jason Johannissen.

Which means that seeing as he wasn't upgraded, Ed Barlow is now no longer on an AFL list.

A little suprising I must admit given how many games he played in 2011. The 2 Macs must not be fans.

Veszpremi is apparently looking a little trimmer than usual. I haven't seen any pre-season pics from him before so maybe will let one of you be the judge.

Calm down, Soph.

Maybe he can be the male version Mel B. weight loss ambassador for Jenny Craig because he is definately not a league footballer.

might not be the case here but most professional body builders/sculptures couldnt run around the block without puffing, just saying.. He has always weighed his food and presented physically very well, ..but will he push past the pain barrier? He does look in good nic.

Uncle Byron back to the SANFL

http://www.wwtfc.com.au/eagles-news...ncement---return-of-star-trio-for-season-2012

Sumner returns to the Eagles after being selected with pick 54 in the 2009 AFL Draft by the Sydney Swans.

Byron Sumner said “I enjoyed my time in Sydney and learnt a lot about what it takes to be an elite player. Obviously I am disappointed to not still be in the AFL system but hopefully I can use some of the lessons I have learnt and make a real contribution to my Club, the Eagles this year”.

why wouldnt he put himself into the draft first?
My guess would be that if any club really wanted him, the Swans would have faciliatated a deal for a very late pick so that he could go to his desired club. Since this didn't eventuate, no AFL club wants him.
