not defending the full blown punch but staker was acting like a tosser and holding Hall and like a lot of players trying to fire him up a as means of distraction.

Staker just happened to be the person who was doing it when he snapped.

Had it been Hunter I'd still be singing Hall's praises to all and sundry.

This has been done to death but the fact is that it was a cowardly and unneccessary act by Barry which was completely out of proportion to Staker's actions

Just back from the Murray and watched Corowa-Rutherglen def. Wangaratta with Ed Barlow, who was named in the best, but still hasn't got much go. Lovely fella , but what a waste of talent.

But of more concern for Perth will be star recruit Paul Bevan going to hospital with a suspected spinal injury after a heavy collision involving Ames and Perth teammate Matt Tedesco midway through the third quarter

Doesn't sound great, particularly given thewest's headline.
Listed initially as leaving the game with a concussion.

It was initially thought Bevan had suffered a spinal injury but a relieved Perth coach Damian McMahon said last night Bevan had been cleared of a serious injury.
But he would have surgery for a broken jaw this morning.

Kelly, who is still unable to walk after the March incident, said he was struggling to recover from the broken rib and hip he suffered.

Kelly was injured when attempting a motorbike stunt with daredevil group Nitro Circus in Melbourne.

"I can't work, I spent a month in bed, literally in bed … it's not good," Kelly said.

"We got flooded out back in March, so we're out of the house for the next few months so as you can imagine there's stuff everywhere to do and it's pretty tough," he said.

Kelly said he was having scans in two weeks that would determine when he would be able to walk again.
