I'm not surprised Port won at all, but more the way they won, as I was expecting this to be a close one. Two bottom sides with a point to prove, you'd expect both would be pretty keen to start the new season with a win. Went for Melbourne only because they were playing at home. Bad weekend for tipsters.

Bevan kicked six goals and Reimers four as the Demons held off South Fremantle by 13 points at Brownes Stadium to start the WAFL season with consecutive wins.
And Perth displayed a level of intensity and ferocity that augers well for their prospects this year.
Captain Bevan, in his second year at the club, and newcomers Reimers and Chance Bateman have added extensive experience to a team that is attempting to build a new culture under coach Damien McMahon.

Woah.

Really liked Heath's performance yesterday. He looked calm with the ball, like he had all the time in the world. It was a great moment seeing him kick that last goal.

Really looking forward to this one also, all five of the players should have interesting stories to tell

Quayle writes of ... Veszpremi's tortuous time in Sydney. ''I didn't feel like I was there to play football,'' he says. ''It was all fitness and weight, fitness and weight.''

Poor baby.

Yeh, not a great show of an attitude change from him although I have to think that is as 'controversial' as his comments get given they were used for the this paper article to sell the book.

I never got round to reading the first one, might be time I did it.

To be fair, the Bloods culture ain't for everyone (just ask his lookalike Nick Davis) but I am more curious to find out what happened when he made contact with his estranged dad, it's tough on a kid growing up without a strong father figure.

I see TDL is back to kicking big hauls of goals in sub-AFL comps. Poor bloke. Must be tough to be right on the cusp of the elite level like that, but not able to take the next step.

He still doesn't seem to have the ability to be a factor anywhere other than in a pocket. And given that, St.Kilda wasn't the best spot to end up in with Milne, Milera, Saad and Schneider all established or well on their way to that point.

I feel sorry for him but I just can't see how he will get a regular senior gig with his game as it is.

That about sums him up
