What was the free kick for? I haven't seen the TV replay, and on the replay on the scoreboard it looked like he ran into a Swans player?Maxfield is still managing to give away free kicks even though he retired years ago
Yes Maxfield got in Kirk's way (the ball was close by) but the rule states if the runner gets in any players way (even his own team) then its a free kick against them.

Meant to mention that Ryan Brabazon was among the WAFL's best in their rep game against the VFL last week in which the VFL won by about 50 odd points.
I'm still a bit disappointed we delisted Brabazon as i thought he was good enough to make it at a AFL level.

Balmain on a roll - 2nd consecutive win. Nicholas Davis with 4.
He has been kicking a bag every week. Pretty good players in Balmains team - Schmidt, Chad Fletcher, Fosdike, Nick Davis, etc. Bottom 5 must be rubbish if they are losing by so much though...
Must be fun when they all get to play against luffy!
BTW - Ive heard a rumour (ie got a source) that Davis will probably be playing for wollongong next year.
Wonder why he hasn't been picked in the SFL team against the VAFA this Sunday

Another former Swan Earl Shaw has.
I'm involved with Werribee down here in the VFL and Matt "Happy" Laidlaw is playing with us this year, he's had a few injuries so haven't seen too much of him running aronun just yet.
The little have I have been impressed, looks like a likely foward type.
For those of you who attend the reserves etc each week, what was his problem up there was it injuries that stopped him from playing more games at AFL level or other reasons?

Brabazon has been racking it up in the WAFL, averaging 28 disposals and a bit under a goal a game. Admittedly is playing for the dominant Claremont side so those stats can be taken with a grain of salt.
