Bevan has something to offer a young team and should have been picked up but so many teams under the current system of rewarding poor performers with high draft picks dont even consider seasoned players.
Many teams seem prepared to bottom out and have large numbers of kids out on the field and this may get them senior experience but this can rob them of confidence and role models who set a good example on and off the field. They may be getting games when they shouldn't sending the wrong message to their players as well by making them think they are better then they are.

And there were a whole heap of players who WERE taken who will either be delisted in 3 years or won't he able to cope with the rigors of afl training and pack it in. Bevan's a proven quantity who's done most of his development and is now at a stage in his career where he can perform at a fairly high standard. He's not a superstar, but he's a solid player and would've been a great addition to any developing team (and there are a number of them) or even a handy addition to a premiership contender who are lacking forward line depth. He can go in and do a job week in week out, he has great defensive pressure. He just let's himself down with his options going forward at times, but he's a handy player, and i think in the right set up could really provide a lot to a team. At the very least he'd be a great mature body in a developing team who can go out there and provide some grunt.
And if u were refering to fev or Leon Davis as better options don't even go there, both have 2-3 yrs max left and are on the downhill portion of their careers
He's not that good, put him at GWS and he wouldn't get a kick. Having said that he played his role well at the club

Champion data is there to make money and make up shit stats. Roosy would back that up.
Looking at the Suns picking up delisted players to add some strong bodies amongst the reserves and senior team (admitedly they're going to get a lot less games than they did at their old clubs) I would have thought GWS would have thrown Bevan a life line for a year or two.
But then again Sheedy mentioned Bevan was on their radar a few weeks ago, perhaps he knocked back the offer to play for GWS or would have just rathered playing in a top tier state team and not a reserves team.
