Good luck to TDL, but I don't really see why we would be too concerned with trading him out. He wasn't best 22 for us and the guy we got with the pick that we got in return for him looks to be a better prospect at a lengthy AFL career in Tim Membrey. If he gets some games with the Saints I'm sure he will kick a few goals but not do a whole lot else. Not one to lose sleep over.

Having a look at that list of former Swans playing for other clubs in the AFL, there are only three would be pushing for selection in the best 22, and of those there are really only two that I would actually want (Dempster and Schneider are those two, the third would be Jolly but I don't want him and we don't need him with our quality and depth in the rucks).

Understood that Matty O'Dwyer was playing at Eastlake.
Mentioned in the Xmas edition of Inside Football that Gilchrist has left Box Hill, but didn't say where for.
Thanks updated. Not sure on the fringe guys like Gilchrist, Haren and Otten who could have left their respective clubs but wouldn't have generated much publicity in doing so.

Spangher played for the Hawks last night in their loss to the Dogs. Not sure how he went.

Danny Currie went orrite

He was very good according to the fans who were up in Townsville, on current form he is ahead of Goldstein. Had 20 hitouts sharing the ruck and kicked a couple of goals. Now that his body is right he is way too good for the amateur grade comps.

Yeah all this talk of him getting a crack at the number one spot over Goldstein, they are letting him go solo tomorrow night as the number one. I gotta admit I was surprised how good he looked, wish him all the best but after seeing the size he has put on I have a feeling we will be talking about him in the future as 'the one that got away'.. No hard feelings though he is a classy kid.

It is often the case with ruckmen, most struggle until they mature and the body fills out a bit, you just have to be lucky enough to have the seat when the music stops.

Yeah, it pretty much is a musical chairs scenario with ruckmen isn't it. Looks like north will continue their good run with swans recruits. All the best to the guy though (as long as he puts in a shocker against us).
