The formula??

how did you get these numbers?

a hell of a lot of trial and error.
found that using 1.15 and 3744 gives out too many variances with the formula being right for some and miles out for others. tried using just 1.00 and the results tightened up so crept out and got best results for the two numbers i've mentioned.
dunno if it's gonna work for next week as the formula may be too basic and only work this first time, but so far it looks okay. kerr was spot on, fev and c.cornes out by 100 as well after rounding.

how is it not close??

(94*969.2) - {(1.0354*158,600)/4}

====> $50051.19

round up to $50,100 spot on!

My bad, accidently put in the wrong price for adcock :o

It works very well indeed :)

Tried it on J. Brown, Adcock & Waters and for all 3 its a matter of rounding to the nearest hundred.

But to the other hundred for B. Johnson.. hmm, its close enough anyway :)

yeah i don't believe the formula is close to the actual one being used by dream team but its as close as i can get with those numbers. if i adjust them slighty a player that was out by 100 is now right, but another player becomes out by 100 instead :mad:

why don't dream team developers just come on here and tell us their formula - make life a lot easier for all concerned

Are you allowing for the fact that the players' values were rounded to the nearest $100 at the start of the year.

I think they must be using a second order partial differential equation, with three co-efficients.

The use of a Taylor Series for 2 variables may be required in order to best approximate the formula.

could you be specific, benno?
tried jono brown's numbers with that and it doesn't work.
but used wrangleroos' formula and he's very close.

3741 x (average of last 3 rounds) - (current price) x 26%

Brown = (3741 x 63) - (433,100) x 26%
= (235,683 - 433,100) x 26%
= - 51,328.42 (Actual - $51,100)

That is about $200 off, don't worry then

It is closer for smaller price changes though, "current value" is price before change btw:

Bartel = (3741 x 115.67) - (385,800) x 26%
= (432,721 - 385,800) x 26%
= +12,199.58 (Actual $12,200)

please dont speak of these ever again!! ive passed my exam on them and hopefully will never ever have to look at them.

EDIT: i actually think they used the sandwich rule to work out price changes.

i reackon some fat dude sits on his arse asleep and guys listen to him call out numbers in his sleep and they use these

see if he says 5 then 0 they immediately follow this with anothe 0 (because fat guy cannot say the same number twice in a row) then he says 1 and they add two 0's and get jon brown's change in value of 50,100

then he shouts out sh*t and they know he has fallen in value

currently testing my own forumla which so far has been correct for 7 players and wrong by 100 bucks for 2

(3 game avg * 969.2) - ((1.0354*current value)/4)

gonna fine tweek it a little to get those 100 buck differences out.

anyone wanna try it out and see if they get any massive differences please for any players

thanks mate, works great for me, i tested it on 3 players, all correct after rounding.
