Play Marsh as the defensive 3rd tall (Goldy's role last year) he's played forward in juniors and would add some serious pace

Whether he has limited options or not, he only does one thing when he is that far out. Swings around quickly onto the left peg and kicks a 60 metre bomb to the top of the square regardless of who's there. He never attempts to look for a pass or unmarked option.

Usually because he's not good enough to hit short targets. But he generally swings around quickly not allowing the defence to set and kicks it to the advantage side of the forwards.

Also its not like he gets 30 possessions up the field.

What a bout Tyler Kietel from West Perth as a KPF?. At one stage last year he was expected to go in the top 20 but was overlooked. 196cm and 87cm. Great contested mark, agility and endurance. Started out has a midfielder but had a huge growth spurt. Does anybody know how he is going this year?

Should we be grooming Scharenburg to play as a key forward if he is that talented? Moore/Scharenburg future key targets forward??

I don’t really see Scharanberg as a Forward. He is Mid or defender as he can use the Ball quite well and we need that more in the Midfield and down back

Can we have a thread roasting the midfield?

Got absolutely spanked yesterday, just as they were spanked in the first quarter against Port.

We knew ahead of the game that Nic Nat would dominate the hitouts, so why wasn't the midfield prepared to rove his taps, or at least play tight on the Eagles midfielders to prevent their easy centre clearances?

Pendles is the general of the midfield - just didn't get it working.

I'll caveat this by saying it may not be the right thread, the sub rule may go and there are risks associated, but IF Reid gets up and running, is he a potential 'swingman sub'?

I know you generally bring on a mid and if someone gets injured he have to come on earlier, but as the swingman sub he will depending on the situation, come on and play back or forward as the game requires.

It's a left field idea and surely he'd be able to play 30-40 mins. Until (and if) Moore becomes a key forward or unless Witts or Grundy can take a decent contested mark, we'll struggle with our forward set up, which I believe is our Achilles heel, along with experience.

Conversely, we may start him with the intention of him playing only 40 mins at the start of the game or throughout the game with long periods on the bench.

The thought behind this is his body can't seem to handle 100 minutes instead of not having him at all, will 30-40 minutes bring us 2 goals or some steadiness in defence as required.

Last 3 Games Cloke has not done much.

Did not much vs Freo. Could not hit the Broad Side of a Barn vs Hawks and Did Nothing vs Freo.

So I don’t think he be as missed as 1st Thought

Cloke missed the last few games last year Dave.....how did we go? He'll be massively missed....he's our outlet target, our lead up forward and our power forward inside the 50....he makes up for 3 blokes.

Well last year we where Missing Pendles,Beams and a Few More Important Player. Not Just Cloke

Cloke has been our most important player (in terms of structure) for years...I'm hoping we can muster a "makeshift forward line can play differently" in his absence but he is our Pavlich, our Roughead. You don't just replace those KPF pieces easily.
