Injury the frenchman

IF anything precipitated the injury it may have been the fact he pulled up with a sore groin 2 weeks ago coupled with 35 degree conditions. That doesn't even take into account the temp in the sun or the radiated heat from all the concrete. Seriously the afl needs to get its act together on situations like this. An extra interchange player or extra sub needs to be introduced on days when its this hot.

If it comes to it and someones body overheats and they have a full on convulsive seizure on the ground the afl and its administrators should not only be sued but sacked as well.

I can go one worst than that.

A footy player I read about semi dislocated his leg from the hip joint and somehow his testicle got jamed in the socket when the leg joint popped back in. He was in agony as his testicle was being ground into mince meat between hip and bone.

Actually this is making me feel queezy .............. and I probably should be carded, terrible story and seriously bad images popped into my head now.

you my friend are sick and i will not beable to sleep tonight;)

I've heard this one too, only it was an NFL player and they had to re-dislocate(if that's what you'd call it), to free the testicle and then pop it back in again

Shawn Redhage dislocating his hip is the worst injury ive heard of especially when you consider it remained dislocated for over 3 weeks before he had surgery to put it back in. Had to fly to America because no one in Australia could actually put it back in without ending his career.

Vlahos has reported on Twitter that the injury is not as bad as they first thought....Hopefully some good news around the corner.

Dislocating your hip is pretty much career over regardless.

Had a mate do it - still can't run properly 6 years later

LeCras was walking around in the rooms after the game sammyg77 so Vlahos is hardly breaking any news there. Its not surgery needed type thing. He came into the game with the injury and just aggravated it. Will be out for 3-4 weeks id say

Your professional opinion, judged by a few seconds on camera after the game?

3 - 4 weeks would be such a fantastic outcome, but I seriously doubt it will be the case.

If he re aggravated a previous injury as the club suggested might be the case how could it be any different. You dont send a player out on the field if they are a chance of re aggravating a possible 10-12 week injury. If its just a re aggravation it will be 3-4 weeks. If its a new injury it will be alot longer you would think

^^ can't say i've ever noticed but i hope it's not just our club.

luke shuey sat on 2-3 weeks for about 14 weeks last season.

We all hope for the best for both the frenchman and the eagles season
but I have recently partially tore my groin playing and I was in nowhere near as much pain as Lecca was in and I could stand and hobble off afterwards (and that was a 3-4 week injury)

I hope its not the case but he was in alot of pain and holding really high...could of torn partially or completely off the bone and we know from kerr that it aint a quick recovery

7-10 hurts, but not as much as a full season.

Could've been worse I suppose.

Andrew Strijk come on down.

7-10 is pretty much a full season in terms of having an elite output - he'll lose all his running base he had from pre-season. The only plus for him of course is that he can play deep forward upon his return which won't require as much running.

Masten's in a similar boat - going to be hard to keep your track fitness up when you can't run - but without the ability to push forward and be dangerous

Pretty good outcome then for Lecca. Shame about Masten, I didn't realise it was that bad of an injury, I was thinking maybe 1-3 weeks. I swear, every time this guy has had some solid preparation for playing well at AFL level he's either gotten injured for a chunk of the season or been played in the forward line.

Good opportunity to get midfield time into the likes of Swift and Stevens I suppose.

How did Masten's injury occur?

All by himself....He was running and stopped to change direction. He then took off again but couldnt run....You see him only for a split second on screen but he pretty much stopped running and would have come off immediately after that.
