FTA-TV The Front Bar (Thurs Ed) 2018

It was below the belt. Felt sorry for poor Russ and marred what was otherwise a good episode. Lyon needs to remember that he’s not pot shotting a Billy Brownless type who is in the media and revels in the banter - this poor bastard was invited in and just copped a tasteless comment.

Lyon should know better that to be humiliating a bloke in public like that given he himself claims to have suffered depression/mental illness.

Any body record the front bar tonight ? Some genuine good roasting of Geelong - a plethora of good jokes if you will..

For anybody in Geelong “Plethora means a lot”....

Lyon’s comment was a ***** act, trying to get a laugh from humiliating poor guy who was a good sport coming on.

Suppose this is same guy who admits to racially abusing opponent and ***** his mates’ ex, so shouldn’t surprise.

Gaz has a face like a dropped pie to begin with, he has some nerve criticising any bloke's looks.

So true. Garry was on the prowl trying for the Alpha quip to recruit the female AFL squadron alumni.
The guy could have replied with “Careful Megan, Gary paying you a compliment there. If you were married to one of his mates he would take you out for dinner”..

Not the strongest episode last night, notwithstanding that Shergold did OK as a replacement.

It really relies on the guests to be suited to the format and as much as I loved him as a player, don't think Michael Mitchell was too quiet to really work as a guest.

Probably the same issue with Rhyce Shaw, which is probably why as others have noted Molloy was interjecting so often to try and prevent slow spots.

There was even a gag where they pretended Rhyce Shaw was strapping up the ankles of North players that fell totally flat with no studio laughter, probably because the audience thought they were being serious.

Also, if there's a stock gag on this show it's invariably around the coaches dinner at Gil's house and even that fell a bit flat this time.

I dont understand what youre getting at there. Can you elaborate?

Pretty much that, seemed a bit shy and nervous which is understandable as a guest on a live comedy show like that would be pretty difficult to do. Michael Tuck was similar a few weeks back.

Watching tonight second time this year, discussion on Tassie jumper came up.
Not hard to work out, history states a map of Tassie on the shorts and the Aboriginal flag on the jumper.
