MM was great
These are the exact era of player that works because there is plenty of footage available too

The show still offers a fair bit. But someone who has a bit of pull seems to find himself in a very small minority of finding Laurence Mooney a funny guy.

Mooney is a better panelist replacing Molloy and works well with Pang.

If it's Molloy and Mooney together then its no good.

Mooney is tolerable but I'd be reacting the same way some people have above if it was Dave Hughes or someone of that ilk.

It's a great show although the Hahn advertising puts me off. It's same same but turn your brain off towards the end of the week and be entertained. It's not at lego eater levels like Bounce FFS.

Yep. Whether you find him funny, at least he knows something about football. I become very annoyed when they bring on people such as Glenn Robbins who knows absolutely nothing about the game and contributes nothing.

Dave Hughes shouldn’t be allowed on TV.

Is there something not right with him?
I use to really like Dave Hughes when he was on shows like Glasshouse amd before the game. But last night's performance was weird, he was all over the shop

There were awkward laughs from the audience too but I presumed because he's doing the same bit as when he used to be on Rove Live.

Tough watch.

Got a lot of joy from seeing the McAdam brothers together. Very genuine and gentle down to earth people.
Weren't they great.

Remember very well Greg McAdam playing for North Adelaide in the SANFL in the late 70's / early 80's.

Very good player; smooth with great skills.

When I hear Hughes I'm reminded of the feeling of the sound of scraping a fork on a plate while running nails down a blackboard.

Pretty sure my 85 year old Pop was more coherent than Hughes was last night and that was when he was in hospital doped up morphine.

Here's some trivia about Malthouse: he wore six different numbers over his 11 seasons
:thumbsupv1:

That's a great bit of trivia!

I've never really understood the desire for players to change the number from the one they were first allocated with, unless there's some deeply personal reason. Certainly wouldn't have picked Malthouse from his coaching persona to be one to change numbers (and always going lower) every second year.

^ that reminds me: when Mick Martyn was on, I saw shots of Darren Crocker wearing number 27. He wore 47 in his first season, 14 in his 2nd, then went to number 27 for his remaining 12 seasons. I assume that was because of Keith Greig being a champion, because it's obviously unusual to change to a much higher number. Greig's last season was Crocker's first -- 1985 -- then it looks like number 27 had 1986 off

Is it just me, or do the McAdam brothers look quite old?
Adrian's 55, Greg is 65 and Gilbert is 59. Perhaps it's just the hair colour

Yes - though it may have happened on other occasions when a retiring champion has formally passed his guernsey on to a young star. Though I've never quite understood why say #15 is so much more desirable than #35. I reckon your theory re Crocker and Greig is probably a good shout.

It seems pretty commonplace for retiring superstars guernsey numbers to get a year off after they finish up. Not really sure of the point, but seems to be the done thing.

What is noticeable is the twitching.
Dave Hughes right corner of his mouth twitches upward after pretty much every sentence.

That's his act, constantly-baffled-man. I remember when he was starting out, he worked at my local bottle shop in Maribyrnong

There's also the sudden raised voice for no reason and the bogan, fake, up country drawl which he must still think is appealing somehow.

I guess someone finds him humorous.
