Wilson seems to have done his future plenty of favours against the Roos. Did I hear right that he was responsible for getting more than a few opponents banged up and benched early in the game? Good on him :)

It's a pity that Scotty has to go back to such an underperforming side like Swans. I don't think there are many Eagles fans who want to see him go, but if he doesn't work his butt off in the WAFL with Toddy he can kiss his AFL career goodbye. I doubt even Mick would have the time and patience to get Cummings back into form *again*.

And what of young Mr Buszan? Oh...it's all so complex isn't it? ;)

All I can say is: thank god it's not OUR full forward going on a bender to celebrate giving up the game...

Cummings is as good as gone. Wilson has shown that he kicks goals in the AFL and with scotty playing at Swan Districts who aren't playing very well he won't be able to get back into form. THe club will push for a trade perhaps with Freo but don't be surprised if he's delisted at the end of the season.

Not too happy about this. I really want Cummings to stay, cant help but like the guy and i would hate to see him go. Especially Freo :( But that could be a real possibility now with Modra retiring. Wilson can kick goals and is physical which is good but he can be very inaccurate which is very frustrating. Buz i still know nothing about other than the you guys have told me.

Hope Cummings can turn it around. If not what kind of player do you think we could from Freo?

GO CUMMINGS!!

PS. What about Fido, he just doesnt seem the same without Cummo on the ground.

Yeah but dont you get the feeling of the chemistry between Fido and Cummings when they play together. I saw Phillip on Basils Footy Show after the game and he looked a bit sad when asked about Cummings. I just think Matera plays better with Cummings on the ground.

Cummings has been at 3 clubs (Essendon, Port, Eagles) and in his first year he has done very well. The next 1 or 2 years he has really gone stale which led the 2 previous clubs to trade him. The Eagles have to look to the future, and long term I dont see him as part of that. I think we should seriously consider trading Cummings to Fremantle for one or two of their players/drafts. It makes sense doesn't it - they need a proven Full Forward and because he stays west we will get a much better deal, unlike if he went over east. I'm not a Cummings hater - he's a great player and has given great service to the club, I just don't think the club can move forward with him in our lineup.

As for Phil Matera and Cummings - they do work well together, but with time I'm sure Buszan/Wilson and Matera can work just as well. They got 4 goals each on the weekend for a start.

This has got to be a first, Eagles have 3 Full Forwards to choose from, Hey, I aint complaining. Yes, I think we should trade Cummings to Freo if they want him, but I do feel sorry for him. Well, Wilson and Buszan look good for the Future!

Cummings contract definately expires this year. I know this for a fact as i read it in the paper on Sunday. So far I haven't heard of any contract negotiations between the two parties, and i'm sure neither has anyone else.

I don't think he can work his way back into the team. If he does get another run in the seniors he would probably need to kick 8-10 goals from limited opportunities in a low scoring game to retain his spot.

And considering Judgey has never really liked him(always freakin benching him  ) I can't see him retaining his spot.

But remember, less than a month ago we were dead certain Wooden would get delisted, now we all like him...........for now;) So its never over till the fat bugger sings:p

Daddy_4_Eyes,

You read it in the Sunday Times so you know that its "FACT"!

Dont you realise that what is said in the media is never 100% true. You should take what they say with a grain of salt. They may have an idea of what's going on, but most of the time they take what people have said and construe the words to cause sensationalism and hype.

It's all to get people to buy their paper.

As for Scottie, you are right, he is out of contract at the end of the year, but you only had to listen to Bluey on the radio to find that out!

Media are hacks

Just to emphasise the point about the media, there was an article in the West the other day about which I have personal knowledge. It had 3 factual errors in about 6 short paragraphs.

It's a miracle these blokes get the date right at the front!

Scotty and Mods might run into each at the beach..Mods will be surfing and Scotty will be on the beach being kept wet while the greenpeace volunteers figure out a way to get his huge bloated ass back into the water. The guy is a hack and finished as a player..at least Wilson looks like a footballer.

Lol
I guess i did overstate it. What i was getting at is that there is evidence that his contract does expire this year, even though the source is a bit "bodgy".

Really Feel for Cummings, had the potential to become a star, but...

Who knows he might end up in Adelaide (wouldnt surprise me; we did pick up A richardson!), as we are dying for a full forward.

I don't like Joey crumbing off Troy boy, it's only a matter of time time till he gets cleaned up by the big guy! :o And if you check Vis' heights and weights thread (nice referal huh vis? ;)), theres just a bit of a difference in size.... poor Joey'd be splattered over half of Subi! I mean if the umps can put him out for months..... it's ugly to even consider a Willo-Joey collision

Meanwhile, I adore Scotty. He is absolutely vital to that club, particularly off-field.... I hope he sticks around, and finds form with poor Swannies. But is it really fair to judge his form when playing that level WAFL team? Matty Lloyd'd struggle with the delivery at Swans :( (btw, theyre my WAFL team, so don't start :p)
