The furphy that Melbourne has poor crowds

I was in the MCC on Saturday, and thought to myself the Member's and Olympic stands were packed, Ponsford had a bit, and then the Warne stand was pretty empty (besides level 1). For a crowd of over 50k it would've looked poor on TV, which is along the lines of what Demon13304 said, most Melbourne fans sit on the hard camera side which gives a false idea of the crowd unless you're at the game.

All you have demonstrated with this weak comparitive post is that Docklands is a lower drawing place to play.

I've got zero stats on it, but I suspect interstate fan attendance is also higher for Saturday games, as opposed to Sunday or particularly Friday, being a factor for the games you quoted.

What I've demonstrated is that those who live in glass houses etc etc

Our game against Freo was over the Easter long weekend. Our game against the Giants was up against the Grand Prix. I don't see how that would be any better than a random Friday night relatively early in the season.

Rochmond v WCE

They have 100k members, where is the outrage from Caro and the other media boofheads about Richmond's poor crowds? And this was after getting only 19k or so against the Suns a few weeks ago. Melbourne (and occasionally North) are the only clubs who continually cop the garbage about our poor crowds.

Terrible crowd so far.. and its a good 40+% Swans fans
38k for 14th vs 12th, it's about on par and really not bad. 3rd best crowd at the MCG in the last 15 years or so.

But we're already copping it, and I'm telling you right now that no other club in the league would cop it like that in similar circumstances

Do you think Stkilda should have moved today's game to the MCG? 13k is terrible.

Nothing wrong with 38 for the Dee's.
