The future - Fev, Kouta, Campo, Stevens, Whitnall..

Not saying that the Forward Line is the problem, but I believe that with time Waite will be a good forward and that Fevola is your most tradeable asset. IMO time to bite the bullet.

I would like to see thoughts onto where can the Backline and Midfield be upgraded?

Talk to most Port supporters and they'll tell you that they're happy N Stevens is gone. He's way overrated. Coughs the ball up more often than not.

Answer, trade him. We need an in and under on baller and N Stevens isn't that man. We've got Campo, Kouta and Stevens in the middle and only Kouta is the in and under player out of the three.

I've been saying for ages that he's no good and finally got dragged on Sat night.

Campo and Kouta have to be kept. They're not worth anything on the open market and lets face it, it's not like they're holding too many out of the side at the moment anyway.

Whitnall and Fev, MUST be kept. Why would any team give away key position players. This crap in the media recently about trading either or both of them is just ridiculous. How ordinary does any forward look when the ball is kicked on top of his head? Kouta ran out of the middle on Sat night, kicked it on top of Fev's head and Michael closed down and punched the ball away. Just another example of how ordinarily we are using the footy.

Lets just think, we trade Whitnall - how does that fix anything. Carlton like any club need a structure up forward - so why jeapordise that chance when all we need to do is bolster our rucks, roving and backline? Our forward line is more than functional when we can deliver it properly (remember the Wizard Cup?) but we just continually butcher it!

Funnily enough in the same breath that they say he's overrated, they also wanted a first and second round pick (or equivalent) for him. Ignore their advice.

Trading Stevens is an interesting concept. He's one of the few quality players at Carlton you (a) can afford to lose and (b) you'd get something decent for in a trade. Maybe Port will offer you similar to what they were demanding from Collingwood? :)

our forward line is NOT the problem ...we need tall key defenders and inside midfielders . if Fev and Whitnall were playing in the eagles forward line they would kick bags of goals every week .
Camporeale has ben a great player for the blues over the years but his time is up ...he should only re-sign with a significant pay cut and finish his career at the club playing off the bench (ala riccardi for the cats )

Our forward line is the problem

Fev has re-signed

Carlton are LAST FOR MARKS INSIDE 50.

That highlights a lack of marking power up forward

We'll get no where with 2 pseudo 190cm forwards.

We need someone who can take a contested mark.

We might bag Rocca, but he can take them. We need someone similar, not 2 190cm blokes who have to have it delivered to them on a platter

FWIW, trade Whitnall - if he snags a few goals here and there he may push his value up a bit

HP, the people I refer to are supporters. Normally clubs ask big bucks for players, but when you talk to the supporters you get a true(r) indication of their worth.

FINALLY, some logic!

I keep harping..........DELIVERY is the key to forwards playing well. Even Lloyd who is a very good FF is struggling in a team that cannot deliver it to him properly.

Well said Blues_Man

You don't understand...........did you see Kouta kick the ball to Fev (5m in the clear on Sat night)? The ball went straight on top of Fev's head and Michael punched the ball away.

Or Lappin, running thru the wing, clear, kicked the ball to Fev's feet (on the second bounce). Kick it to Neitz, Williams, Gehrig and Lynch and see them kick goals every week.

If our forwards weren't one dimensional, they wouldnt need to rely on pinpoint passing

We are unable to kick the ball long inside 50, as we don't have the marking power to take contested marks

We seriously need a CHF who can contest and occassionally mark the long bomb.

You can't rely on delivery inside 50 every time - teams flood back which means no room to pinpoint passes. You need to be able to mix it up - kick it long at times

You can't have 2 key forwards who rely only on delivery. They're not tall enough in the first place

He's a flanker

His opponent (Drummond) had a tonne of possession on Sat night, gave the Lions a lot of run out of defence.

He doesn't have the ability to play CHF
