It's hard to be upset about this. He's been injured on and off with his back the last two seasons, plus they didn't really have an offseason between last year and this year. Some rest before getting back into it is fair enough.

He's always been a closed shop with the media but some actual comments about his plans, and future commitments wouldn't hurt...

Pretty much agree with this. He could make things a whole lot easier releasing a statement saying "I'm gonna rest for a bit then hit the gym" but he seems not to give a s**t about the public perception stuff. I really do think he either gets bad advice or ignores it.

Understanding of said mates is normally based on hotness of his misses. On that basis, can't blame Ben for skipping out and hanging out with the girl he's with.

Yep. I was a keen NBL fan like many in the 90's. Back in the day players used to stay behind after the game and sign autographs. Simmons was the only NBL player I saw at that time refuse to sign autographs and never smiled when talking to fans.

Totally agree with the poor coaching. They also should have been using Reyne Smith as an outside shooting weapon, instead he hardly got any minutes in the whole tournament and possibly not encouraged to go for his shots.
Both Daniels and Smith were far more dominant against New Zealand's men's team earlier this year.
