Whether he does or doesn’t have real mental health issues, I’d be surprised if any club wants him now. I think he’s tanked his value league wide.
His mental problems are pretty obvious but to say no team in the league would want a multiple All Star and DPotY candidate is rubbish. Any team with a decent group of 3 point shooters would feast with Simmons in the line up.

Sports are not about what you have done in the past. If that was the case then Blake Griffin would be on a max contract starting for the Nets. So all the accolades Simmons has achieved count for almost nothing going forward. The 76ers GM will no doubt talk up everything you listed. The other 29 GM's in the league will see a selfish drama queen, who cant shoot 3's or even make freethrows, who is the opposite of clutch in big games or in the 4th quarter, who has not improved 1 bit from his rookie year.

Theres hardly a rationale person in the NBA that believes Simmons is worth his current contract, and the only reason why any team would trade for him is if they can offset his financial burden by getting a bargain at the trade table.

Simmons has put himself into a small category which will only fit a handful of teams. That team needs large cap space, a team already stacked with shooters, and a combination of 2 role players and draft picks they dont mind losing. Theres zero chance a simple trade for someone like Lillard or gets done. The 76ers most realistic deal would involve some future 1st round draft pick plus someone like Garland, but even that is a stretch.

What he said ⬆

Not really. Most gms would see a young perennial all star which are almost never available.

Griffin is being paid a max or nearM contract currently - just not by the nets. The theory sports people are not judged by their past is quite stupid.

Teams don't need cap space they will trade couple role players - bev Beasley for example

This isn’t accurate.

you certainly have to pay for future performance, not past performance, but there’s no indication Ben can’t provide the same or improved performance. He hasn’t been injured, he’s just in a massive dust up with his current team.

griffen has suffered major injuries that have robbed him of his athleticism. Of course he isn’t going to be the same player going forward.

No indication Ben can't provide the same or improved performance? His playoffs a few months ago show he has regressed from his rookie year, and currently he is refusing to play for mental health reasons. Id say thats an indication. The 76ers GM made the horrendous mistake of giving him a long contract based on potential. Obviously it looks like his potential was already reached in 2017, otherwise he would have a reliable freethrow or semi decent jumpshot.

Lebron failed to make playoffs recently. Then got smashed by Ayton. Butler got out played by Forbes on half the shots. Curry choked. Etc etc

Almost all the stars flaws outside Giannis were exposed not only Ben.

It's fun to s**t on Simmons but he is not as rubbish as what's fashionable to say

Wow this post is a mess

Lebron failed to make play offs when he missed 30 games with injury

Lebron getting 'smashed by Ayton' still put up 23/8/7

Curry and Lebron have never had a play off series as bad as his against the Hawks, stop defending it if you are going to compare him to those types of players.

Ah yes most see a young perennial all star yet none are willing to give up anything of note to get him 🤣

Mental health is more and more being viewed and treated like regular injury and illness which is great. But just like if a player claimed a hamstring strain or the flu no one would suggest a team were overstepping asking the player to report to the team's own doctors. So mental health shouldn't be seen any different and in this case I think Philly are well within their rights to ask Simmons to see their own professionals.

Also, to add some objectivity to the discussion, change the name from Ben Simmons to James Harden or simply to Player A. If you still think the same then, fine, but likely other players asking for a trade, refusing to show up and then claiming mental health when the team starts to fine them are not going to be seen as the without fault good guy and the team as the bad guy.

Players do routinely seek their own medical help but do so in conjunction with the team's doctors when it's an injury that prevents them from playing. Situation isn't much different here, Simmons shouldn't be forced to use Sixers docs, but that's not what the team is asking from him either.

Giddy highlights are fun. So good watching him as he wows worldwide audiences, leaving fans beyond impressed, and starring in games
Almost every game there is at least one "wow" moment.

He's got a long way to go, but a lot of my doubts (based on him being a geeky looking white guy), have been resolved. At a minimum he's going to be a good NBA player for 10+ years (baring injury).

To me his base level is Ricky Rubio. Which is a pretty damn good starting point
