Ray Martin never hosted anything he pulled out, he was asked to host and agreed but pulled out of the the thing.

I don't see an issue with appointing one of Australia's most respected media personalities to conduct an audit into a television program. The fact that he is left or right wing means absolutely nothing as the review is not about political bias within the ABC but about the incident with Zaky Mallah and how that was handled.

Does hosting Labor Party election fundraisers count?
Nope-he didn't host it the one time it was offered. He apparently said that if he did one for the ALP, he would also do one for the libs as well, in any case. His behaviour in the media has never indicated left or right wing leaning. So that suggests to me that he is quite capable of an impartial inquiry regardless of his political leanings.

In the current bigoted political climate in this country we'll be able to tell whether Ray is a 'leftie or rightie' by the outcome of his review:rolleyes:

Sad isnt it, but thats what you get due to the extreme politicisation of just about everything. Such division doesnt help the country at all, just some old school dinosaur types who just cant move on & are totally self absorbed & selfish.

He agreed to do the Labor fundraiser then pulled out after his employer pressured him. It was only afterwards that he claimed he 'would have only done it if he could have hosted one for the Libs too'. Sure Ray.

Two post before, you were saying he did ALP fundraisers (plural), so more than one.

Are you sure this time Mr.Lester?

Can you produce anything that states Ray's political opinion or shows bias in any way (not that it actually matters)?

It is starting to look like the only problem in this instance is that you are trying to manufacture something to whinge about in regards to the ABC.

Yep but again, nothing in his journalism has betrayed a particular leaning, has it. So he is probably pretty balanced.

When did the Labor party become 'left wing'?

They've been pretty darn centrist since Hawke.
Since they were infested by fabian socialists and communist leaning union officials etc finally giving up all pretence of being centralist when they formed a coalition government with the Greens

If you think the ALP is 'left wing' you need some serious help.

I'd have to compromise my morals
Lol.
