Man take out the carlton game and he is a hack. He has only two good aspects and that is he can kick and take a defender of roo or kosi. He cant mark a hard ball or play anything on the ground. I dont care if no one agrees it is what i reckon.

Excellent plan! Sack a proven full forward and replace him with a player recovering from a knee reconstruction. Genius!
I am not talking straight away. More like in a year. Course you wouldnt put someone like Goddard in straight away.

Fraser may retire at the end of the year - he almost went through with it at the end of 2005 :(

At worst he's a decoy forward, at best his strength is a major problem for opposition defenders. I think he still has another good year left in him, hopefully he plays on.

Could this new kid be that Geelong supporter back again? Man I hope so!

No he is not

Fraser has had a bad year apart from a few games, but who in the team would you replace him with? There are not even many in the league.

We have to hope he plays another year taking a top defender and kicking a few more bags.

Yeah this is true, and it is why i chucked Goddards name up. He is probably the only one on saints list that could feild the role. So yes i agree he could have another year. But we would be trying to look long and hard to replace him unless something drastic happens.

If he goes, it will be Fergus Watts to replace him. We didn't just pick up Watts for shits and giggles, why let him waste away in the magoos.

that would be a waste of Goddard's tallent he is a half back/wing player he sets it up. I know its a very big call but in my biased eyes nearly the best kick in the AFL, was really starting to bear fruit this year bummer about the knee and judging buy his character i would imagine it would take a while for him to gain the confidence again.

I think the million dollar question now is whether he WANTS to play. Fraser is that kind of a player - deep down, underneath the muscle and bustle, he's a heart player. The last few games, I dunno, I just think he's had that kinda "why bother?" look to him. I want him to keep playing, but only if he actually wants to. If not, it's lousy for him personally to be out there, and it's just damaging to the club.

I suspect he'll quit, and Watts will take his place. I don't want that - I want a fired up G-Train. But there just doesn't seem to be much coal burning in the stoker right now.

Why can't we play Watts and G-train in the same team? If we didn't pick up Watts for giggles, what is he doing in the VFL? His form warrants selection. It would be easier to replace Gerhig (When he retires) if Watts had a few extra game exp (like now)

Yet Jones gets picked

There's no way we can play Gehrig, Riewoldt, Kosi and Watts plus another ruckman. Apart from the past couple of matches, Gehrig has been in great from since the break and is one of the primary reasons for our good run of form

We all want a fired up G. I am not argueing that. When he wants to he is great. But those times he doesnt are what costs us games. You just can't do that as a player. That is why if he doesnt change his attitude why play him at all.

The times he doesn't are when the ball comes in sowly and he has three players hanging off him. Nobody can kick multiple goald like that, but they can creat free men and opportunity on the ground.

Out of cusiosity, has there been a marked reduction in the amount of goals the top five goal kickers have kicked over the past eight seasons?

It's only one game, but man was it good. He's back :thumbsu:

At half time I was hoping he'd get 10. 8 at 3 quarter time and I thought he was on track. Oh well :)
