The Game....

At the gound it looked like he was "on" Carrazzo.
Started at the bounce on him numerous times, but **** me he got near neither of them
Carrazzo also had a good game. Whoever he was on absolutely smashed him the other way.

Thornton was certainly poor in defence, sumavich. How Harvey hasn't figured out what Bigfooty had ages ago worries me.

Ballas pressure in the forward line when he hasn't got the footy is almost as exciting as when he does have the footy. When Harry Taylor kicked that brilliant goal last week Frodo was right on his hammer the whole way. He got shepherded off just before Taylor kicked it.

i agree !! I like Harvey but he needs to weed off the leeches this year, or he will be under serious pressure next year !!
Hinckley, Gilmore, Bradley & Thornton should be sent packing, and Mundy should be trade bait !! That's five possible picks next year !!

Browne, Head, Drum should be definite delistings and Murphy paid out, whatever the cost. BoB delisted maybe , and Solly possibly retiring. The problem will be more about finding enough young guys of quality. I'd probably keep Keplar for some depth. He's not an AFL player, but he can play as a depth player in the forward line when he is having a decent game and our stocks of big blokes are thin. Hinkley should be given a year more.

We seem to be chucking a lot of names up here. Note the draft is supposed to be shallow and the GC comes in the next year. Surely it would makes sense to keep a few of the players mentioned for depth or trade bait the following year. Its no use clearing out for more list cloggers. Guys like Bradley, BoB and Drum should be kept IMO.

Delist (without question)- Browne, Gilmore, Head, Murphy(payout)

We will up-grade 3-4 rookies, and look at 3-4 picks.

The draft isnt is shallow on KP players. Lots of decent kids running around this year.

BoB - Gone. Still havent seen anything in him.
Drum - Has to come into the side and play well otherwise gone.
Bradley - Looks to be a depth player. Next year he must be behind Sandi and Clarke and only come in for injuries.

Therein lies the problem. Who the f**k is in charge of injuries at the club needs to be replaced as well.
I mean Chopper has been two/three weeks all f**cking year !!

It's amazing how one simple name can cost a poster all credibility.

Whenever I read that Hinkley is on his last chance or should be delisted, it is a sure sign that the poster has no idea what they are talking about.

His game wasn't even that bad yesterday, it was no worse than some of Suban's this year. Hinkley set up two shots on goal, and had Suban and McPharlin not been so selfish he could have two of his own. Sure he only had 8 disposals, but they were at an efficiency of 88%. Perhaps some people should stop looking solely at the stats sheet, and actually look at the work that a player does off the ball and the positions that they get themselves in.

The injury that Chopper seems to have had, is a real ****.

You don't know if it is going to clear up in a few weeks, or a month or two. You don't know if it needs surgery to begin with either. They were probably really cautious with it, and it will probably need an op, but a conservative approach with it has probably what has kept him out so long.

And then of course you're open to stressies because the bio-mechanics of your foot change and you can't roll off the outside of your foot as well...

And as to Grover... all well and good getting touches, but his job is to beat his opponent and stop him scoring. He did not do that.

Although I think Hinkley was better yesterday, he is still too uncertain of himself. He needs to grow some balls and back himself otherwise he won't make it.

Oh and you're really beating a dead horse with the constant comparisons with Suban. Suban is light years in front of him ATM.

The reason I use Suban as a comparison is because he gets praised no matter how he performs. While someone like Hinkley, seemingly has to be best on ground to get any sort of praise.

I don't think people realise that just because Hinkley is in his second year, doesn't mean he is further developed than guys like Suban or DeBoer. Some people just need to calm down a bit, and treat him as the kid that he is.

I get the feeling Harvey rates BoB and will give him every chance to play. If he is capable of doing that then i[d give him at least another year.

But i'd look to get rid of 6-8 at the end of the year given De Boer and Broughton will get promoted off the rookie list. Drum would be one of them, Kepler would be very very borderline.

Spot on! But you'll be beating your head against a brick wall expecting people to listen!

Spot on Chops...Suban is committed, desperate and hungry for the ball/for the play...He wants to be out there...Hinkley has shown none of this at all...not that I have seen...
What a load of crap! take your blinkers off.

When have you ever seen Hinkley squib a contest, or shirk his responsibility to go for the ball or contest? When has he appeared not to want to be out there?

Hinkley is an outside player. Every team needs them and we drafted him to be exactly that.

He was a skinny kid when drafted, not unlike Hall, and he's only in his second season and already the knives are out! FFS! Are you clowns going to call for Hall's head in 12 months time if he's not tearing it up in the top side?

Were are the supporters with foresight and patience?

If Hinkley is an outside player, shouldn't he at least be able to kick the ball? Or you know, back himself to kick a goal rather than handballing to someone in a 2 on 1? I have seen very little to suggest he will be anything, happy to be proven wrong though.

Agree - hope the guy improves a hell of a lot, he will need to. His size is getting there but just looks like a rabbit in the headlights at the moment. Fumbles, indecisive, dodgy disposal by hand and foot. Do the WAFL/Swans fans see any potential based on his WAFL form?? having said that I think he will be given at least 2 more years to make it as there is so much other (and older) dross on the list.

3 times in the first quarter of the Swans v Perth game a few weeks back...

I was on a Melbourne flight that Harves also happened to be on. I had a quick word to him and congratulated him on having the courage to turn over so many players in the one year. He replied that another 12 would be turned over this year! 12!!!
Now I assume this will include rookie spots but that means 26 new players over 2 years.

Hinkley's safe in my book. We simple cannot expect every player picked up to be like Palmer/Hill/Suban. Not EVERY player automatically comes with that ability to just throw himself in to a contest, make good decisions, show agression etc. I simply will not give up on Hinkley yet and am willing to give him time to adjust and grow...he may not have an agressive bone in his body and Harvey has to instill that in him. I reckon Harvey knows this too because the 'time on ground' when Hinkley plays is relatively short compared to a lot of our younger players.

The following though would be my delistings for 09
HEAD
BROWNE
GILMORE
MURPHY (payout)

Kep - we'll need him for tall depth and Brock O'Brien will get another year and he better make the most of it. Needs some good luck with injuries - and for those that say they dont 'see' what BoB offers, then watch the Melbourne game at Subi from last year...he like a younger version of Solly.

Drum and Campbell and maybe Mundy up for trade...if nothing decent offered, then they stay on for another year.

Quick question on Suban, haven't seen Freo much at all this year. Is he an annoying little pest or what? That's two Carlton players this year that have hit him and been rubbed out.

Maybe he's just rubbing it in and taking the piss that Carlton could have had him instead of Warnock... and the players just snap when the realisation of their club's ferk-up hits them.

Pick 24 and 56 for Warnock. hahahahaha...... :D

Wait till Buca gets a gig in the seniors too. :thumbsu:
