First of all don't freak I am not suggesting Ayres come back to Geelong (shivers). I am just raising the scenario that Bomber has 1 year left on his contract and could be offered a coaching position at another club like Ayres was. It would seem that the Kangaroos and Carlton may be looking for a new Senior Coach this year and given the turmoil at the Cats, may see it as an opportunity to poach Bomber. Afterall, despite his weaknesses as a coach, he has done a fair job at rebuilding the side and we are just a few players short of having a top 4 side ( iknow some of you will give me stick for that comment).

So a side looking to rebuild might see Bomber as a good prospect. Bomber might just think the change is a good idea and ask to be let out of his contract. Bomber leaves, fans happy, Club saves face...win win situation.:thumbsu:

thoughts?

We can only hope.....we need Cook and Costa otherwise to show some toughness and pay him out - the club cannot afford to waste another year. We have a group of players that are capable of so much more - Bomber has admitted that himself - if he is not capable of getting them to perform at that level now he has to go. I think he has lost the faith of both players and fans now.

What a crock of crap this get rid of bomber stuff is. we have had a crap year - fitness being the real issue...

Getting rid of bomber basically closes the door on us even attempting to win a premiership in the the next few years (maybe longer). I want to see one more year of bomber at least- given we are fairly sure he knows what went wrong pre-season last year I think we can turn it around.

I have heard all the names thrown around about his possible replacement but none of them really fill me with confidence we will be better off with some rookie wannabe.

I think one of the important factors to a coach is expereiance and I believe bomber has learnt alot this year and we will be a better club next year for it.

personally, i dont think its crap at all.
Lets face it, the sledging of team mates, the capitulations the lack of courage, these things all fall at the feet of the coach. It is his job not just to get them right physically but mentally aswell. And i think we have a list capable of top 4 easily if not for their mental problems. Maybe keep bomber there and employ a psych as an assistant coach? :)

Nah i think he has done a great job, but doesnt seem to have the ability to get the boys right in the head, which is half the job.

Need someone with a different style of coaching to take them that next step and get to the GF.

The saying goes 'when the whole team doesnt perform you don't get new players, you get a new coach.'
