Hey fam, so ya boy has made the hasty decision to go over for Gather Round this year. NFI where I'm staying or what tickets I can get but thought I'd throw a thread up to see if anyone else is having a similar hare-brained idea.

I'm going! Freo v Pies Friday night at Adelaide Oval.
It is a great few days, went to the Barossa last year, and melted watching Freo beat Richmond.
Perth will never get it, sadly!

Nice! My plan is to see a couple of games & to discover breweries.

The Adelaide Hills area is great in general, Prancing Pony is also out that way which I liked.
In the city Mismatch, Shapeshifter and Little Bang were solid depending on your lean for beer style.

Looked at it saw the airfares and went **** this.

Going to Melbourne to watch us play the bulldogs instead
I'm driving over from Victoria, so will probably be the same price tbh :skull:

Yeah they're on the list

Coopers ale house and earl of lester (just out of city) are two good spots if you want a big schnitzel.
Meat and Wine Co - another great spot, but a lot more expensive (worth it)
luigi delicatessen - this is a good spot for breakfast if you are in the area. ((Franklin st)
Peel St- most restaurants in this area are pretty good.

Happy to answer any other questions, will help if I can.

I am from Adelaide, going to the Freo vs Collingwood game.

[leans in real close]

How big exactly is the schnitzel?

Got in early and scored cheap accommodation and flights. Amazing that we got business class seats on Easter Saturday cheaper than the economy ones I got for my son and his partner flying over on the Thursday morning. Have 6 seats in block 132 from memory. And got two studio apartments at a Mantra for less per night than a single room at a old style, drive up to the door suburban motel. I think the Mantra caught on to the Gather Round dates a bit late.

My problem was that my decision was a relatively last minute one so paid heaps for average accommodation. Driving over so flights not an issue but fuel is now more expensive (thanks Orange Man).

Gather round tickets still for sale if anyone interested, also have one seat for Fri night game
If you have any spare tickets for any of the other GR games I might be interested. Have tix for Freo/Pies & Dees/Blues (for the comedy), and am on a waiting list for Swans/Suns.

Well done. I love a good travel scrounge.

I've got 2 adult & 4 junior tickets (section 529A) for sale at cost if anybody is still looking to go.

Freo are putting on a pre-game event near Adelaide Oval!
