pretty shizen fight, but it's safe to say nobody really expected much more.....

ref was shithouse. first time i've ever seen a ref doing the 10-count while both boxers are still fighting..... funny how the ref decided to dock Mundine a point in the 10th for holding when that was going on the whole damn fight!!

I'm very indifferent to the outcome, it's a shame that this is what Australia has to offer.

Judges cards: 96-92, 96-92, 95-93

Australian boxing. Who's the future? Anyone good fighters anymore?

Nah this isn't anywhere near what we have to offer.

Our best fighters go overseas, like Danrchinyan and Katsidis, even Geale is going to fight for an IBO (or IBF) title soon.

No way that fight tonight was representative of what Australian boxing is all about, the problem is Danny Green vs Tarver will be the next "big fight", and it will be just as bad.

so now that makes 1-1 i can bet there is going to be a decider . We going to have to sit though another Mundine v Wood. Isnt that just fabouloso

Mundine won't fight him again.
He might, there's no one else in Australia who will fight him who would bring up even half the interest a Wood/Mundine 3 battle would.

Just means we have to find a stream for that night too, found a great one tonight.:D

Ordinary fight. I thought the result was fair but Mundine is not the fighter he was. He has lost hand speed and his ability to throw punches in combinations. Foolishness for Mundine to go lighter.

Wood is limited and has got the best out of his ability so far. Good luck to him for making his first million.

Taumafia who was on the under card was fighting, it must be, 20 odd years back. He was a punching bag back then:o.

i know these two fighters are in a different weight class but i would like to see a Wood v Green. I reckon it would be a interesting match up.
Green keeps complaining about not having any good opponents in Australia and apart from Mundine the only other fighter would be Wood.

Looking forward Mundine looked old tonight, no speed, no combos.

Agree. He was never a bad a fighter that some of the public made him out to be. He had fast hands and punched in bunches and had leg speed. He made a squillion too and that is not to be sneezed at when 99% of fighters have their minds frazzled for not very much at all but he is now a shadow of his former self and will get beaten by the cream with consummate ease from here on in.

Not much of a spectacle, but at least there was a bit of late drama created by a combination of some appalling refereeing and the late knockdowns.

In any case, Mundine surely wouldn't consider going overseas now, he's pretty much done. It's a shame, because he wasted the best years of his career fighting bums for the most part, but that's the way it is, I guess.

Mismatch due to weight. If Wood even attempted to head towards light heavy or Cruiser Green would finish him in 2 or 3 rounds.

Green would murder him.

That's what I mean though. If you wanna see boxing in Australia this is what you get...

Mundine is not the fighter he was. Most people have covered my thoughts...What the farq was Kariz (from the contender) trying to do ... it was like when mosley stepped in after the mayweather marquez fight to call him out..

what a moron kariz is.

Mundine only took the rematch because losing stuffed his credibility so he was no longer able to go along picking easy fights to make $$$.

His only option was to take the rematch an get the win.
Now he can continue on pretending hes the greatest an fighting bums for $$$.

So there will be no rematch.
Just like because he beat green there will never be a green rematch.

Had Mundine lost to Green in their fight i can guarantee Mundine would of been calling for a rematch asap.

We've got Berto-Ortiz today, I'm predicting an Ortiz win.

I'll probably change my mind on Berto if he does it in style today, but for now, I just don't rate him that highly. Ortiz, conversely, is a fighter that I think is very talented, but just struggles to maintain concentration throughout the course of an entire bout. If he can improve in that regard, then I think he could be world class.

Big call on the Ortiz win. Ortiz is a very talented fighter but I'm Just not sure if he has the heart to beat some of the better welter weights. We will find out more about both fighters after today's fight.
