As a promoter Don King hasn't been relevant for a long time. He has DeMori on his roster as well. King is a part time promoter these days.

yes, and demoron is a part time, fraud fighter at best. king is gone. long gone the king..

You mean this pic... ?

Looks pretty broken to me!!

Look under Hayes hand you can see the bottle. What looks like glass is just water.

Anyone here giving either Cotto or Bradley any chance in their next fight?

Cotto's too slow for Floyd, and Bradley will be lucky to last 4 rounds against Manny.

Daniel Geale and Billy Dib put their IBF world titles on the line in Tassie tonight.:)

7 fight card at the bottom of this article, coverage starts from 8pm.

Hopefully both can win so they can then look for the big pay days in the US.:thumbsu:

Apparently the Salido/JuanMa Lopez rematch was a great fight.

Here's a quick recap with some brief highlights...

...and the very end of the fight with the great Mexican commentary:
(would love to see the whole Box Azteca broadcast but couldn't find anything else on youtube):

^^ WOOWWW that was suss. That dude took a dive. Seemed so dodgy throughout that round. The guys in the crowd yelling, "IT'S TIME, ONE MINUTE"

and then others urging him to be defiant and "win the fight, win the fight"

definitely a set up

^^ I wouldn't just look at the final "punch". I'd look at the whole scenario: mainly at what the people were yelling out to Green, how Green obviously had good defence (rare to see heavyweights employ the philly shell, that's some Evander Holyfield stuff) but just decided to stop moving completely so that Kimbo could hit him etc.

Also, I doubt it was this guy's debut (as boxrec states). You can tell he had some decent skills in there and wasn't phased by much. I wouldn't be surprised if he was fighting under an alias. Apparently there was also a big weight disparity that most commissions wouldn't have allowed the fight to take place.

Keep in mind that Slice outweighs Green by a healthy amount. This was a fight that no sane commission in the world would have sanctioned, which is why it was held in Missouri. They don't care about those sorts of things up there.

If you do wanna look at just the punch, there's enough evidence alone there to see it was a dive. If you watch enough boxing and have seen enough knockouts, you can tell when a guy's really hurt, and when a guy's really been ko'd.

I know this thread is hardly relevant anymore, but did anyone see Katsidis' fight on ESPN over the weekend?

He's got a new trainer, but it looked like he had the same style. He also looked slow and sloppy, and his punches too choreographed. He got picked off throughout most of the fight when he was coming forward, and had his best rounds when he tried to box a little more. He's open for uppercuts all day when he's leaning forward. Still got a good chin and a heap of heart, but he's gotta change his style if he wants a chance. I don't think he's got much left considering the amount of punches he's taken.

Yeah I caught the Katsidis fight. He has always been an all out action fighter who uses his head to block punches. Should have left Brendon Smith a long time ago. Smith was never able to take Katsidis to the next level and now it's far too late to learn new tricks. Katsidis has always seemed to be more concerned with putting on a good fight, rather than winning at all costs.

I have immense respect for Katsidis though as he travelled around the world and took on all challengers. If a few more fighters had his balls, boxing would be a lot better off. Personally think it's time to step away from the ring as he has been in a lot of wars and got the most out of himself.

Mayweather - Cotto coming up soon. Thoughts? Cotto in with a chance? Or will Mayweather simply be too wily for him and not let him land anything clean?

Mayweather should handle him pretty easily, without putting himself in too much danger.

Hope Cotto knocks him out tho. Would be good to see Floyd lose (as Manny should've against JMM) so this "Superfight" that hasn't happened falls through.
Hopefully teach them a lesson.

Well I wouldn't put it past Cotto to hurt Mayweather, especially seeing as the fight is at 154 and Mayweather has been using his legs less in recent years (meaning it won't be hard for Cotto to find him). Closing the gap without getting caught on the way in will be his biggest problem. Cotto just has to allow himself to have enough space and put his combinations together when he does get within range. Mayweather will hold and lean on the back of your head if you get too close. He doesn't like true infighting like he used to.

I can see Mayweather catching him with right hand uppercuts because Cotto is mostly open down the middle, although this is dangerous as Cotto has a mean left hook and that's the most dangerous thing for a guy throwing right uppercuts.

Probably just an amateurish analysis cos I don't know each fighter's every tendancy. I'm thinking Floyd will look to pot shot him a lot with 1-2's off the backfoot as Cotto comes forward.

Exactly. I don't think it will be the most entertaining fight.

Floyd may not use his legs as much, and Cotto may be able to catch him with a hook, but Cotto isn't the same fighter he once was either.

Always been a big Mayweather fan but I'm really rooting for Cotto to knock out Mayweather. Floyd's arrogance and attention seeking is getting too much to bear. I think Cotto will be a lot stronger at 154 but Mayweather will most likely potshot Cotto for a 12 round decision. Hoping for a massive upset though.

Yeah this.

Any suggestions for where I might be able to watch the fight this sunday? Usually I watch it at a friend's house via PPV but I can't this weekend. Would most casinos or pubs play it with the volume on? I've never watched a boxing fight outside of the house before, be it mine or someone else's so I don't really know how well it'd be covered.

Where do you live?
That foxsports venue finder doesn't list half the places that actually show it.

Yeah I doubt the accuracy of that thing but I don't know of any other way to look for where's showing it (other than just calling up places)

Also, Alvarez-Mosley on the undercard... anyone giving Mosley a shot? I've bet a little on him cos the odds are nice! Styles make fights and even though Mosley has next to nothing left (mentally), I wouldn't put it past him to land a big shot. Punchers chance I guess.
