Definitely, i'm a big Lombard fan, but I can see Brown's durability really testing him.. Particularly if it was a 5 rounder and Lombard slowed drastically from the 2nd/3rd round onwards as he often does. Either way - it's something i'm keen to witness.
I think Lombard would take Brown down and sub him pretty quickly and I'm a huge Matt Brown fan. IF he can blow through Burkman, I think it's a great career move for him and one that could set him up for a title shot at some stage this year.

Would be a great fight for Hector, he really needs to fight someone decent. I think he's in the same position as Glover was a while ago, top fighter but doesn't really have a name yet so a risk for a top guy to take on.

Just on Hector, I hear he's quite brutal on his sparring partners, has anyone heard this?

I'd be surprised if many hadn't heard that. Just type "Hector Lombard bully" in to google and there are a number of links about it.

I don't know how much weight the claims have and to be honest I don't have a huge problem with guys training how they fight. If he goes 100% on newer/outmatched training partners though, it's pretty douchey behaviour.

I think as long as they know what they're getting in for it's probably ok. It's going to cause problems for you though, I'm guessing there aren't many potential partners at that level willing to get beat up for no money, so he might struggle to find good ones.

A guy I know has trained at the same gym as George Sots and he was similar in this respect, he nearly got in trouble at UFC 110 in the crowd as he was booing the shit out of him ha ha!

Haha, you'd need to be a brave man to have been booing George that day. I thought the roof was going to blow off the cheers were that loud for him!

Hadn't heard that about George before, but he didn't appear to be well liked on either of his TUF stints, so it doesn't surprise me too much.

With Lawler/Hendricks 3 being confirmed I was wondering if someone has fought the same person 3 times in a row in the UFC (or even MMA in general) before? If it ends up happening it's a really weird occurrence.

I don't know any details about the issues people have with Lombard's training habits. Going 100% in striking training seems really stupid though. Fighting like it's a real fight and trying to KO your training partners doesn't make much sense. Wrestling/grappling training at 100%, excluding trying to injure the partner's arm/leg in submissions, sounds fine. Even then it's not like you can go flat out with wrestling/grappling constantly because it's going to lead to more injuries.

I don't know all the details but there's been complaints by various people about Roufusport training too hard or something. Then I saw this article that showed Roufusport to be the most injury prone gym. Obviously there's got to be a balance between training adequately to prepare properly for a fight and training smart to avoid injuries.

In fairness that's probably due to Pettis. I heard a sparring parter looked at him cross-eyed and he twanged a hammie.

Belcher is ridiculously injury prone too

With Saffiedine just announced as out of UFC FN 60, Brown has no opponent. Hopefully Lombard makes short work of Burkman and puts his hand up to fight Brown.
After that performance today Matt Brown would make mince meat of him
Very unimpressive Lombard

If Lombard tried to stand and trade with him, I agree 100%. Burkman was tagging him, but seemed to gas very early in the piece. If Matt Brown hits him as clean as Burkman did early, he's not going to back away... he'd be going full steam ahead to finish the fight.

Cerrone stepping in for Alvarez to complete the trilogy against Benson in two weeks. Dude is a mad man.

Their first fight was one of the best WEC fights in history but the rematch ended rather abruptly with Henderson catching Cowboy in a guillotine in the first round.

For real?
If Cowboy gets past Benson he must get another shot at being KO'd by Pettis again

Third time lucky?

It's a shame that Alvarez is injured, but I didn't like that fight for him to be honest. Cerrone looks like a different fighter since the last time he and Benson fought and you have to wonder how the two stoppage losses will effect Benson.

Cerrone is definitely a different animal now.

Two stoppage losses and a dubious decision against Thompson. I thought Khabilov had him until he gassed in the championship rounds. Jackson/Winkle did their homework on him with Khabilov so I'm sure they'll know the ins and outs of Benson so Cerrone is more than ready.
