it's getting very frustrating. People will stop buying PPV's soon enough. It's bad enough that we get watered down cards due to constant injuries. Now we have to deal with fights we don't want so dana can line his pockets. I understand why he'd give Silva a rematch (Brazil), but I don't get the Rory thing. I would have thought he'd want Rory to carry the canadian market after GSP's departure.
Silva would probably earn a title shot legitimately if given a few decent fights, but beating Nick Diaz shouldnt give anyone a title shot at the moment.

Assuming Weidman beats Vitor, Jacare or Rockhold (if he beats Machida) should be next, Silva needs a win over someone in the top 10 of his division first, even have him fight Bisping (the perennial gate keeper).

As for R-Mac, i don't know what the kid has to do, but i guess if Lawler and Hendricks keep drawing and having good close fights he might just get screwed.

Yep 100% agree. The fight with a Diaz now makes sense. They need silva back in it! Diaz wants a pay day and will think he can weasel his way into a contender spot. Ufc want silva back so they hype up Diaz and put silva against a fighter that is average and just wants to bang. If he fights jacare or Rockhold and loses the ufc miss out on $$$ and it could be the end of silva.

Diaz first for a warmup. Then a top 5 contender. Bisping is a good call. The UFC would like it too because they'll suggest it's the Bisping of a few years ago that was pressing for a title shot.

I quite like Silva v Bisping as a fight for Anderson to get a title shot, Bisping has been pressing for that for years (albeit wanting a title shot). Rockhold v Machida is clearly Rockholds opportunity for a title shot, lets hope he doesn't fail like Bisping had so many times before.

Couldn't agree more about Mir. My favourite was "I'm working on the intricacies of details of maneuvers that he still doesn't even know the names of." Then this happened:

I guess one of those maneuvers wasn't protecting your face. :D
"Hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight"

There is nothing more I love in UFC terms than seeing my favourite athlete of all time smashing Mirs head into the cage.

That was an incredible post fight interview. Talking about doing his wife, yanking a horseshoe out of Franks arse and hitting him over the head with it and on top of that he had the gall to diss one of the UFC's major sponsors too. :D

Rockhold vs Machida

Going to be a very good fight. I hope Rockhold wins
Thats a big mountain to climb for Rockhold but I guess both see it as a means to an end. Beat the other, get to fight for the title.

One thing I detest in the UFC is that a fight can occur where only one gets a title shot if they win. That makes no sense from a risk/reward standpoint or what is fair, equitable & consistent.

I think with a more aggressive game plan from the bell Machida has a better chance against CW.

Agreed. I'd love to see a more aggressive Machida. Sometimes he leaves it too late or sits back too much. With his technique and precision he could be causing more problems. I'd just like to see him do a Whittaker-like flurry once in each round. Especially when age isn't on his side.

Definitely. They always do it. Anderson vs Diaz (diaz will try his best to get in there just like Sonnen did). Bisping vs Sonnen - Bisping was never going to get the shot and all Sonnen had to do was get through it.

McGregor vs Siver

Every now and then a fighter throws a spanner in the works and crushes a contenders changes (guida beating pettis).

Please!

Sadly I actually want the UFC to screw itself on some of these. Perhaps the only way to learn, but doubtful if money is involved.

I can understand the 1 person title shot in some instances. The Rockhold v Machida fight is one example. Rockhold beats the former contender and proves his worth, Machida is probably 1 more fight away just because he got the last shot and lost (i hate seeing the same people fighting for the title all the time, Dos Santos/Velasquez style).

Its the same theory behind a high ranked fighter facing a barely top 10 or a 15+ ranked fighter taking on a 5-10 fighter. Sometimes the higher guys have to pay their dues.

Having said all that the Diaz v Silva fight is pure poprcorn and no one should be getting a title fight from a win off of that, realistically it shouldn't even be a main event on a PPV.

Just on FN59, Would love to see Cowboy win but reckon he comes back to reality this Sunday. I just dont see a way Hendo can lose against him. Going to be a great fight either way...Much more worthy of a main event that the current main event fight.

It will be hard. Just depends how he's recovered and got in to it again. Hendo has had a full camp and will be fresh as a daisy. Cowboy could minimal damage but the odds aren't in his favour

Just read that. As usual, the small amount of likability, or at least, the human side of Jones, disappears when the truth comes out.
while I don't like his "personality" I couldn't care less about it! his one of my favourite FIGHTERS due to the fact his such an exciting talent in the octagon. when you have such a dangerous, highly talented fighter, you can't expect him to also have a great personality.
I'd recommend everyone watch the recent Joe rogan experience when him and brian stand talk about jones first getting to jacksons and how little he trains.. think it started about 25 mins in.

Now that he's out and "gotten the help he needs" surely it's time for a fine and suspension (not that accounts for much because he'd probably be having time off anyway)

He broke the code of conduct and should be disciplined for it

Hendricks vs Lawler is off because Lawler doesn't wants a break before fighting again after a tough year. Now it's Hendricks vs Brown as the co-main for UFC185.

I'm going for Brown in his and Rory vs Lombard so we can see Rory fight for the title in 2015.

Bloody hell. I think Hendricks knocks him for 6 in this one. I don't rate brown whatsoever and he was flattered by lawler not wanting to risk his title shot too much. Now he's a shoe in to get the shot and Rory will have to wait further. I should be Lombard vs brown, Hendricks vs Rory.
