Dana's double standards are a joke!

He fires Torres instantly and yet Forrest & Rashad pretty much do the same thing and he doesn't punish them.

Fair enough they shouldn't be making jokes about this stuff but Torres was quoting a tv show apparently.

Don't agree with this either, and not just because my avatar is from the same TV show the term "rape van" originated from. It seems like he's had Dana come down on him so hard because he's not a huge draw like the other two guys. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of Torres, but this is very disappointing news.

Rumours flying around at the moment that Overeem is out of the fight with Brock.

Edit: Dana just trashed the reports at the press conference. Hopefully that's the end of that.

Wouldn't be the first time Dana has been evasive though. And seems Ariel Helwani believes it, he usually knows his shit.

And the 125 pound division entering the UFC March 3rd (I think).

:D:thumbsu:

Man, Overeem being out of the Brock fight would suck. Wouldn't be overly surprised if true with Overeem's mother battling against cancer. Wonder if Mir would step in on short notice if he's medically cleared to do so?
Mir said he's more than happy to step in, given he only had another short fight, seems like he thinks there's some credence to the rumour too.

And I reckon Florian versus Rumble Johnson at flyweight! :thumbsu::D

Yes, flyweights will be great. And already a good start with many 135'ers to drop down.

Tournament will start on the Australian FX card, good result for us.

No UFC Sydney for 2012? Or could it just be later than previous years?
Yeah, later than in previous years. It's being reported that they'll be going to Sydney in March. Looks like being the UFC on FX 2 card which was a bit disappointing at first but not now as it looks like it will have the first round of the Flyweight tournament.

According to Dana's twitter, there's also going to be a title fight on the card. I can't see which title would be up for grabs as the timing seems off.... champs are either injured or their contenders fight too soon before March, but I'd be exstatic with that news if true!

That would make a lot more sense. A title eliminator (assuming he's not talking about the Flyweights and the Kampmann/Alves fights) would make this a very strong card.

Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort announced as coaches of TUF Brazil with them fighting at the conclusion of the season. Don't like Silva's chances in that one.

According to a report on the MMA Weekly website, Browning posted an update on his Facebook page after the alleged brawl.

“Wow what a helluva weekend,” wrote Browning “Some [expletive] named Sie Menzies and about 10 of his friends started a fight with me. I guess just to test a ‘UFC fighter guy’ at this [expletive] little bar in Karon, Thailand. Had a beer bottle and glass mug shattered on my head, then to make everything better, stabbed severely by some crazy Thai [expletive].

“On a positive note, I managed to break a few orbital bones, at least a couple jaws, and (left) some unconscious bodies laying on the ground before I blacked out from loss of blood and apparently had to be resuscitated in the ambulance. So, how was your weekend?”

I was thinking it has to be Cruz vs Faber, but then I realised that TUF 15 doesn't start till after UFC on FX 2.

The only one possible now is if Dana ignores Rashad-Phil Davis, and go straight to Jones vs Dan Henderson, which timing wise is defnitely possible. However, I highly doubt, he is going to let his new most bankable star be "wasted" on an Austrlian non-PPV card. So yeah, very unusual statement by Dana.

Ariel said that Dana meant a title eliminator. No champs seem to be ready for a March Australian card.
Actually this makes a lot of sense. Better be a good one though.

A great title eliminator fight (big name) + Kampmann/Alves + flyweight tournament = almost the best main card Australians have had, and it's a free card :/

Jones likely gets a decent break after a hectic schedule this year, but I could see Hendo being used in the main event. No idea who he'd fight, but the timing would be good and he's a bankable star on a hot streak.

Jones said something about taking a 5 month break from fighting and Dana said that's fine in a recent interview. So no chance of Jones being on the card. An interesting fight for Hendo could be against Little Nog in a rematch from Pride.
