Nah it wouldn't with Little Nog having had a couple of losses then the win over Ortiz. They wouldn't want to risk Henderson losing either unless the winner was in line for a title shot like with the Sonnen/Munoz fight coming up. That's all I could think of for Hendo though.

I'm thinking that Dana may have been talking about the tournament fights as title eliminator fights which would be a bit disappointing. Hopefully that's not the case.

Cris Cyborg got popped for steroid use over the weekend to the shock of nobody.

Strikeforce card today was nothing special, Rockhold got a nice win on paper but Jardine is shot and shouldn't be fighting. Woodley's fight was horrible, Saffiedine/Stinson was decent enough and the other two fights with Mo and Lawler had little action until the TKOs.

Yeah, no surprise about Cyborg. The excuse they've come up with is that she didn't know it was in a supplement she was taking. Pointless thing to say, nobody's going to believe that.

Saffiedine/Stinson fight was quite good, especially the first round. Woodley fight was as boring as they get, took Mein down and laid on him whilst getting elbowed in the head every now and then. I thought the King Mo fight was quite good, taking Larkin down and posturing up to land strikes until the stoppage. Lawler fight only went for a couple of minutes and had an illegal knee to the head which was a huge brain fade and then a nice finish with the flying knee. Rockhold/Jardine fight was alright while it lasted except that it just looked like a matter of time before Rockhold would put him away which he did.

It's still a decent card, but was never going to have huge names on it this time around, as it's a free card.

The flyweights should be sick and the main event will be good. But I agree, I disappointed, and am not flying to Sydney this time to go see it.

I'd rather see Noke & the Hippo than anything else currently on the main card, a bit suprised Georgey wasn't put on the card either, but then he could already have another fight tee'd up that I probably don't know about..

Yeah he's fighting in Japan only a week before the Australian card. I always reserve judgement on an event until after it has taken place. There's been heaps of cards that don't have huge names on them but have been very good like the UFC 138 card not long ago.

An interesting fight for Hendo could be against Little Nog in a rematch from Pride.
Seems like the UFC agreed with me but Henderson apparently turned down the fight.

According to Helwani, Dana White originally offered Nogueira to Dan Henderson but Hendo turned the fight down. The plan was that if Rashad Evans defeated Phil Davis at UFC On Fox 2, he would get the next shot at current champion Jon Jones with the Hendo/Nogueira winner being next in line for a title shot. Helwani said Henderson's next fight is in limbo as a result.

Gustafsson v Little Nog sounds the goods. I like the look of the swede.

Sonnen won't get out of Brazil alive if Silva v Sonnen II is over there.

Me too, looks the goods. Maybe if Jones beats Hendo, Evans and Davis, Gustafsson might be next in line. Though with injuries being the way they are it might happen sooner.

And Dana reckons they're going to have Silva v Sonnen in one of the big soccer stadiums over in Brazil. Sonnen is really just a troll, though I doubt everyone in Brazil knows that, he's mouthed off probably a little too much. His story about the Noguerias and the bus is piss funny though! :thumbsu:

I don't think the loser of Evans vs. Davis necessarily gets a shot before Gustafsson... In fact, I might look to book the loser of that fight against Gustafsson with the winner to receive a title shot.

Hendo needs to win another fight against solid competition at 205 to get a shot, given that he's not next in line. It's too long before he could get his shot for him to just wait. He turned down Nog, so Rampage maybe?

You do realise that that didn't happen, and it's just Sonnen being an arrogant, ignorant, racist douchebag?

I read that Big Nog is blaming the ref (Herb Dean) for his loss to Frank Mir at 140. He said if Herb had not cautioned him for hitting Mir in the back of the head he would have continued and knocked him out, but claims the hits were to the side of the head.
They looked like hits to the back of the head to me?

The punches from Big Nog to me seemed to be in a grey area where sometimes the ref tells the fighter to stop hitting the back of the head as Herb Dean did and other times the ref believes the side of the head is being struck. It makes sense what Big Nog is saying as he decided to go for a submission when Herb Dean warned him. Agree with alfy!, he's not blaming the ref despite what all these articles from a quick google search say. The media ask why would he go for a submission when he had Mir in all sorts of trouble then when he answers the question they say he's making up excuses for losing, you can't win with the media.

Ignorant and racist? I thought it was funny and obviously a joke.
It was a racist joke made by a dumb American who loves to call everyone else out, and do just about anything to draw attention away from the fact that he is bitching about deserving a title shot, all because of one fight where he went close due to the fact that he was on PEDs.

I have absolutely no time for Chael Sonnen - He's an arrogant, loud-mouthed cheat and a criminal, who has done nothing but embarrass himself in the last few years.

it wasn't racist at all, idk how you could say it was

did chael **** your mum?
No, he just used performance enhancing drugs, was convicted of money laundering, and throughout it all continues to run his mouth like the UFC's very own Veruca Salt.

Guess those aren't good enough reasons to hate the guy

Yep, not racist at all. He didn't say all Brazilians are dumb, just the Nogs. And Chael is one of the funniest pricks I've ever heard, proved he's still a good fighter without the PEDs, his domination of Stann was an absolute shut out.

And Rumble Johnson missed weight for tomorrow, by 11 pounds! :eek:And he was moving UP to middleweight too if you can believe that!
