DC said he will retire by March 20 next year. He will be 40. Why would he retire after a loss to Stipe though? He would still him his belt, I'd love to see another Gus fight before he hangs em up.
He said in a recent interview that he wouldn't go back to LHW after Stipe.

He said it in a recent MMA Junkie radio interview and I think also in an interview with Ariel. He said hypothetically if he fought Stipe he wouldn't want to cut back to LHW. Who knows if the UFC could twist his arm.

I reckon Gus wins the vacant LHW belt in late 2018 early 2019.

Hopefully we see a return of JJ before too long. I think he'll get off, but I'm not sure where his case is at or when he'd be able to return etc. JJ has talked HW b4. If DC beats Stipe, maybe DC has his final fight vs JJ at HW.

He will get two years, instead of the possible four at best.

It seems the only news we have of his defense is:
  • he passed a polygraph test (pretty desperate move considering the science is shit house)
  • Rogan says Jon's camp think it was tainted coke with Chinese creatine he snorted in the week of the fight (if true, so ******* bad ass!)
  • Jeff Novitsky says it's highly unlikely he ingested that substance on purpose, so close to the fight.
  • this last point is probably true, but could easily be from another illegal substance. To pop hot, even with the UFCs world-class testing, you either have to be unlucky or dumb. Jon is probably both.

Tim Means got 6 months. Lyoto got 2 years, and he declared the mostly useless substance on his form and didn't even piss hot.

Jon is ******, even if he didn't intentionally cheat.

Anyone catch the Ronda news? Shes officially with the WWE now. She also did an interview earlier this week with ESPN where she STILL refused to discuss her losses. Its led to a lot of arm chair analysis of her mental state but one thing I didn't realise, after she "lost" gold at the Olympics (she won a bronze for the record) she never went back to Judo, after her two losses in MMA she will likely never go back to MMA.

I gave her props when she left the UFC after both losses, I was and am a fan and she changed the landscape for the sport and became one of (if not the real) first crossover star from the sport but the mental state she must have to just never recover from a loss is staggering and frankly a little scary.

He's a cheat

Completely intentional

Biggest problem with this sport is peds and how people feel the need to defend the guys, reminds me of primary school

Just another belt that the holder won't defend then. Can't wait for another interim belt.
Few days ago "I wouldn't want to cut back down to LHW". Today "I never said I would abandon the division". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seemed pretty adament he didn't want to go back down so I'm thinking he knows he can't say he won't go back down so that he doesn't get stripped before the fight and he loses the opportunity to hold two consecutive belts..

Here's the latest interview

Why would JJ knowingly take an illegal substance. Why would he risk it?

He's relatively young, skillful af, he's a big beast and he trains his ass off. Call me ignorant on the PEDS matter if u want, but I just don't see him taking the risk, especially when fighting DC, who's 8-9 years his senior.

If that were the case why would any of them take it? Plenty of the best have been pinged, and whether you believe like me (they’re all on the gear to some degree) or you don’t you’d have to be naive to think that all of them aren’t at least pushing the envelope.

'I beat you after a weekend of cocaine', literally a Jon Jones quote.

The guys a drug cheat. He's been done before and again, how could you have any shadow of a doubt.

Turinabol doesn't just show up ffs

Coke the week of a fight isn't prohibited in sport. That's just bad ass. Doesn't make him a drug cheat.

Buying an over the counter dick pill, and then presenting the receipt as proof, which also had one of the substances you pissed hot for on it, might.

I think the amount of people using has definitely come down since usada came in.

Still, a significant portion would be. It's just not that hard to cheat and get away with it.

Jeff Novinskys appearance on the JRE was very interesting for that, and also, that doco Icarus. Pretty eye opening for me, even as someone who has paid attention to the business of cheating in sport.

Right with the cocaine thing, but thats just the guys mentality when it comes to drugs.

He's been done before for steroids, pathetic cover up attempts or not.

And now he's been done again. Even more certain.

It’s my personal position that all of them at the elite level are doping to some degree but that’s also pretty irrelevant to this discussion and purely my gut feel with no evidence to support it.

Having said that regardless of the reasoning behind it when athletes have such unimpeded access to have their supplements tested and are operating in an environment with clear rules and sanctions in place it’s pretty difficult to comprehend how Jones gets a reduced ban unless it’s preferential treatment.

Haha yeah no one is going to fool for that. Floyd’s obviously just stirring up shit. I think they are trying to those three champ vs champ fights on the one card. If the stars aligned imagine if they put Conor vs Floyd on there too. Would have to be the biggest ppv of all time.

Conor vs Floyd
Stipe vs dc
Cyborg vs Nunes
Tj vs dj

... It’s ridiculous but I can dream right :)
