Looks like Woodley is getting his money fight against Nate Diaz.

This will be the the worst 'money fight' the UFC will have ever put on. It is probably the worst title fight.

If this goes ahead, Woodley better not **** it up. Put on a highly tactical fight with a 'boring' gameplan and he will be crucified.

So i guess lock in Nate vs TWood.

Good. I can't think of any way even the biggest of Nate nuthuggers could suggest he's worthy of a title shot at 170. If he's coming back, give him a meaningful fight at 155 and keep him where he belongs.
Caught me before I edited..

Tongue in cheek. Could easily be another "women will never fight in the UFC", "nunes will never headline a ppv" or "GSP vs Bisping won't happen"...

I don't believe a word he says anymore..

Ha, true that! It is Dana after all.

Still can't see it happening. With Woodley's talent for putting on boring fights and Nate having a 50-50 record at welterweight it makes absolutely no sense.

A good dude, Dodson. But just another fighter for the ufc to screw around. Hopefully he should get paid after being on this show...

Nate doesn’t deserve the shot, but we know that counts for nothing in the money fight era.

FWIW I think Nate is, stylistically, maybe the worst possibly match up for Tyron.

Long, awkward, unorthodox and great on the ground. Tyron would have to fight smart against him which means it’s gonna be boring.

No idea how you could think Nate would be a bad match up for Woodley. It either says to me you overrate Nate, (which wouldn't surprise me since he's up there with the most overrated fighters right now because of exposure,) or maybe you are a fairly new fan (2-3 years). Nate has done sweet F all to show any indication of giving Woodley trouble. I am not a huge Woodley fan by the way. Think the second Wonderboy fight should have been a draw.

1. He's not that long at WW. He really isn't. Woodley has fought, Wonderboy, Rory Macdonald, Mein, Heiron, Condit. All quite lanky guys, in most cases better striking than Nate (bar Heiron and Mein).

2. You definitely overrate his ground game. It's not like he's a Maia/Jacare/Werdum where you genuinely want to avoid the ground at all costs. Nate can be controlled with a good top game, which Woodley has, albeit he doesn't show it often due to his improved striking and fight IQ.

You want Woodley kryptonite you gotta look more at a guy like Rory (obviously,) who whilst not a perfect fighter is tough AND cerebral. Not just tough like Diaz.

Yeh right, solid two week old quite there mate.

Firstly I don’t overrate Nate, he doesn’t deserve the shot on merit or skill, secondly I’ve been a fan for 10+ years and trained in mma, boxing and BJJ for a similar amount of time. Thirdly I never said he’d win just that’s hes a horrible match up for Tyron, which I stand by.

He fights long at either weight, he gets right out on his jab and throws awkward angles, he is great on the ground, he’s horrible at getting it there but once on the ground he’s fantastic, 13 sub wins, one over Jim Miller one of the best BJJ guys in mma backs that up.

If they fought it'd be a stand up war that would never get there unless Woodley scored a knockdown and went down to the ground. It would however be entertaining for someone to just walk forward throwing 200+ 20% power jabs at Woodley for however long the fight would last, for a change.

Look, to be perfectly clear I take issue with someone coming in and rolling out the "Lol newbie" line at any theory, its exacerbated here cause all you guys are awesome to discuss this stuff with, one of the most respectful and open board on BF. I've got no issue with my thoughts on the fight being disagreed with but the noob diss tipped me over.

I got cut reading it and it wasn't even directed at me haha

I'll have to incorporate it into future disagreements ;)

Can't wait for Edgar v Ortega.
Ortega is fast becoming one of my favourite fighters, still a lot of upside and growth as well.

Darren till needs to be given a fight soon. Hopefully something announced in the next few weeks.

Kevin Lee, Dustin Poirier- same as above

Oh and Cody garbrandt wants a fight

Poirier is fighting Gaethje in April. Should be a barnburner!
