Anderson's tdd seems much improved
That's hard to say really. Since the Sonnen fight at 117, I can only remember Sonnen trying to take him down in their second fight and he had instant success in the first round. GSP's not as strong as Sonnen, but his ability to shoot faster would give him a decent shot at putting Anderson on his back. I don't doubt that Anderson would eventually catch him with something in the fight, but I'd say his chances are much closer to 25% than 1%.

I have been leaning to Jones simply for the fact it will be much more competitive. Anderson's tdd seems much improved which does not bode well for GSP, GSP's mental lapses during fights where he gets caught (Condit, Diaz) is also ominous for him. Anderson Silva is the best in the UFC at picking and timing shots, he will easily catch GSP in a 5 round fight. So it comes down to the fact GSP has probably 1% chance of beating Silva whereas Silvas probably has 30% chance of beating Jones.
I don't really have any idea about putting an exact figure on each fighters likelihood of winning the respective superfights but I think GSP definitely has more than 1% chance of winning. I just think that Jones would likely beat Silva and that Silva would likely beat GSP. Silva does have that advantage of being able to end a fight instantly whereas GSP if he wins is going to wear you down and almost certainly win by decision. I don't know, I'd like to see either of the two fights.

I like Anderson & GSP thats one reason I want to see him fight Jones. However I can't see him beating Jones but if you look at how he destroyed Bonnar & Griffin who are both big 205's (although slow) he has a chance against Jones. If Anderson could keep it standing it would be an epic fight.

I saw the knees on the ground that Jones did to Sonnen & thought it was almost the same as how Silva finished Sonnen in the second fight.

Rampage saying that Kongo walk away and that he didnt get cut, he just didnt re-sign with the UFC.

Keep in mind that it is from Rampage, so it's probably not 100% on the money
Yeah cut is probably the wrong wording. Article says he was offered a 4-fight contract before the Roy fight, so they most likely couldn't agree on terms, he had a loss and that's that.

Nelson vs Cormier might be a possibility?
Dana said that was possibly the next fight, Nelson said yes and Cormier tweeted yes. This all went down at the post 159 press conference.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't, if all parties want it. But I thought Dana might want Cormier down to 205, as this fight is a lose/lose for fans/Dana I believe. Cormier wins, he won't fight Cain and potentially goes down to 205 anyway and Roy gets an unnecessary loss. Roy somehow wins and they've ****** up a big cash cow in Cormier.

Well said, and true. However I still think it could be a win for fans if it's an entertaining fight/KO, the aftermath just wouldn't be so great for one of them and their future intentions. I'd just hope that Cormier wouldn't tie it up with his wrestling to avoid the bombs.

Really cool behind the scenes look at Goldberg's preparation for events:

Oh for sure it could be a short term win for fans if it's an exciting fight. But I'd rather see them pair Nelson up with a top 10 opponent, a striker if possible, and Cormier with a top 10 tune up fight at 205.

Stepping back to see the bigger picture, and I agree with you. Presuming Hunt loses to JDS (Sorry MARK!!) he would be a pretty sweet matchup for Nelson. Why do I get the feeling now also - that Cormier will look to clinch up and close the gap on anyone with a good striking game even though he can strike? To rephrase - who would he most likely stand with at a distance and trade or pick shots with, opinions people?

It sounds like Dana/Silva are wanting to set up Nelson vs Hunt as a title eliminator in the event that Hunt later this month. I imagine that fight would be a title eliminator with Werdum getting next crack at Cain (provided he beats Nog). If JDS wins, he'll get a third meeting with Cain and Nelson and Cormier would fight for the #1 contender spot.

As for your thoughts on Cormier, I think he'll be happy exchanging with most guys at heavyweight. His performance against Mir was a bit of a head scratcher, but that could be put down to the infamous "UFC Jitters". Don't forget he looked great standing against Bigfoot who is coming off a win over Reem, so I think we'll see him look to utilize his range striking again soon in coming fights. I'll be interested to see what strategy he uses if he fights Roy next as he appears to be one of the few guys at heavyweight with real one shot power and a high level BJJ game.

If Hunt beats JDS I don't see how he's not next in line for the title shot, I think that puts him ahead of Werdum. Dana said before that a Hunt win would net him a title shot but it looks like they've changed their mind since they're now thinking of a Nelson/Hunt fight should Hunt win.

To me it kinda seems the UFC is doing anything they can to avoid giving Hunt a title shot.

But TBH if he beats Dos Santos I think the campaign from the media and fans will be so big that they will have to give in.

Came across this recently, has to be the weirdest fight ever. Makes all the weirdness at UFC 159 seem perfectly normal.

And this I saw a while ago. Adhesive dropped down from the cage on to the fighter's face. He thought it was vaseline so he spread it around which resulted in him gluing his eye shut.

Jay C, I've got no idea who won. The whole thing was so dodgy, looked like it was more professional wrestling than MMA. The referee was breaking up a potential submission at the beginning of the video. o_O

The size of those scissors... Hahaha.
Yeah, what were they going to do with those scissors? Any success with those scissors would have gone something like this. The good news is he can open his eye now and the bad news is he's missing a chunk of his eye.

He went to a hospital after the fight and got it sorted out.

I don't see how Alves/Brown is going to be anything but a good fight. With their respective styles there should be fireworks.

I think it was announced a couple of days ago now, Philippou's out of his fight with Jacare. Camozzi has stepped up, it's a big opportunity for him but I don't like his chances.

Didn't know where to post this but had an interesting encounter with an MMA legend yesterday. Was staying at the Novotel in St Kilda for a wedding and as I was driving past it I thought "Shit that bloke looks like Bas Rutten!" but thought, nah what would he be doing here.

Anyway I went through reception and **** me but it was him! I heard him saying to his mate how tired he was and that he was going straight upstairs for some sleep so I thought I wouldn't hassle him. Anyway, got on the lift and in he walked! I thought I have to say something now so I said "Hey Bas!" He looked at me all shocked, like do I know this guy? Anyway he said g'day and we had a bit of a chat. He's here doing seminars, said he's been flying all over the last week and barely had any proper sleep, he looked tired as!

I wanted a photo but didn't want to hassle him any further and then my floor came up so just said see ya and enjoy Australia and he said no worries mate! ******* funny random sighting, geez I shit my pants talking to him though! :D
