Hopefully Hunt gets a flight to the US soon. From his twitter it seems like he's not been allowed to board a flight a couple of times already. The sooner he can get out there to prepare for the fight the better.

There's been some interesting developments surrounding champs Eddie Alvarez and Nick Newell and their respective organisations, looks like both are free to search for greener pastures, in short.

Alvarez's Bellator contract stipulates that he only be allowed to negotiate with UFC...? And Nick Newell appears to be having his name slandered by XFC.

Aren't Alvarez and Bellator still in the middle of their court case? I don't think anything has been decided one way or the other yet. There was a clause in his contract that allowed Bellator to match the UFC's offer. Apparently Bellator believe they've matched the offer by agreeing to pay him based on PPV sales despite them never having put on one PPV. Really weird but I'm not sure how the courts are going to see this. I'm pretty sure they could have already sided with Alvarez but didn't, so it mustn't be as clear cut as it seems.

Here's what Alvarez received from Bellator stating that they are able to match the material terms of the offer. Then they quickly changed it to just match the terms of the offer.

The Newell/XFC thing is weird too. XFC are saying Newell thought he would lose the upcoming fight against the next title challenger so he turned down the fight and they stripped him of the title. Newell is saying that he was able to leave the organisation after a few fights and has opted to in an attempt to work his way into the UFC.

Hunt's still not in the US. The UFC's confident he'll get there for the fight though, for whatever that's worth. They're always confident someone will be able to fight regardless of the circumstances, so that doesn't really fill me with too much confidence. Hopefully this gets sorted quickly because like Hunt said, he's running out of time to acclimatise.

Hopefully he gets to the US because it would be a shame to see this fight not happen after all the build up.

Heard Roy Nelson is on standby if Hunt falls out.

I was thinking to myself this morning "who would be the best possible case scenario as a replacement if he can't get there in time?"

- Roy Nelson.

I'd still take that in a heartbeat.

I guess Nelson's probably the best option available but I think JDS would pick him apart like he did last time. Avoid the overhand right and JDS would cruise to another comfortable decision win.

Overeem? I doubt this fight would be put together as Overeem's apparently going to be fighting at UFC 164 but this is the fight I'd like to see if Hunt doesn't get there.

Pat Healy has tested positive for marijuana following his win over Jim Miller. 90 days suspension, the win is now a NC and he loses that 130k of bonus money back to the UFC and he may still get fined by the commission.

Don't like seeing the penalties for marijuana positive tests.

Wow, huge loss in both ways.
