Tuivasa v Gane

Don't like that fight for Tai

Me neither, shocking match up for him I'd say. Was hoping that he could get the Stipe fight somehow, he might have a chance there, but Gane, Aspinall and Blaydes will all be tough nights for Tai I reckon.

Just about the toughest fight in the division for Tai. Then again, if he lands clean Gane is likely going down and Tai is headed for a title shot.

This and Aspinall/Blaydes has me pumped for the division for the first time in years.

Definitely a tough one for tai. Didn’t think he would get through Lewis but he surprised me there so hopefully can do it again. Tai, blaydes and aspinal seem to be the 3 top names trying get into title contention at the moment. A win over Gane would put him above those 2

Pretty funny people were saying he was ducking aspinall only to take a harder fight lol.

This feels like a nightmare matchup. Realistically apart from a bad decision in round 5 Gane probably should have been champion.
Could be a boring fight with Tai struggling to get into range and Gane just jabbing him to points. You hope maybe he can land those leg kicks and restrict his movement

Also been weird how people have been saying that Ferguson lost to good opponents so he's still a chance. He couldn't have looked any worse. Chandler lost to good opponents and looked good.
The Gaethje fight looks to have ended Tony pretty quickly. Had a few moments in between the beating he took in that fight but against Oliveira and Dariush he was almost uncompetitive. At an old 38 against a still in physical prime Chandler, it could be even uglier than the Gaethje fight.

The two weight cuts in a month may be as big an issue as the damage from Justin. He just looks noticeably skinnier/small since then.

They really need to get him out of the rankings and just put him against a Diaz/cowboy etc. Fans absolutely love him and will tune in but his time as a challenge is over

How in the world is he in any position to be getting a match against Chimaev?
Money. Probably not as much but it could rival the Conor Nate fight for eyeballs if they start going at each other. Plus Khamzat seems the type of campaigner who if he can't get Colby he still wants to fight anyway

True. But Nate against a lot of people is money. I really don't think he should be wasting the time of a #3 rank. Chim should be looking at Edwards or Colby (also money) next.

That should well and truly put Nick out to pasture.
What the UFC have to gain by having Cumshot smash him?

Surely people aren't stupid enough to think a win v Nate is a big deal

Then again Edwards got a title shot off beating an unranked Diaz

It's really not just about beating Diaz.
Edwards:

One fight that never happened for Edwards (because of covid, and just shy of fight week) was against Woodley to determine number 1 contender. Was a main fight on a London card.
